Editorial Reviews

In this Primetime Emmy®-nominated family comedy, Jim (Jim Belushi) is the macho “everyman” who challenges his gorgeous and feisty wife Cheryl (Courtney Thorne-Smith) with his stubborn manliness but contagious charm. Tagging along with this duo of happily married opposites are their three precocious kids.

Nothing makes me laugh like Belushi's show. Some reviewers criticize him unfairly, I think. Some think he's sexist--it's a comedy show, not a documentary. Some comment about his weight--just look at your neighbor, or yourself. America is fat. It's a comedy show! Get over it.

This cast works so well together it just seems natural. I've got seasons 1,2,3 and 4 is on the way. Belushi is, obviously, an American Everyman and plays up some obvious cliches . . . but so what. We laugh at the ridiculous and there's plenty of that to go around. According To Jim is fresh and surprising, sometimes low-brow, but always funny.

Why is it taking so long to get the whole series out?

These older shows are happy and not filled with cuss words. Joy to watch. They just don't make them like this anymore.

I never heard about this series before (not from US). Once during the flight they were showing it on the airline TV. I think I was shaking the entire plane with my laughs. So when I came home I have looked it up and watched almost every season. It’s absolutely great. It helps to put the mind off things and relax. The kid actors are just perfect and so are everybody else.

Another great season here. I cannot believe how real Jim Belushi seems on screen, he must be very much like this character in real life. In this world of seriously sad situations, we all need a bit of this humor in our daily lives. Here it is, and no commercials, of course!

I got season three to try it out their cheap after season two. I loved the crystal clear picture of it on dvd and grew up loving Jim Belushi. I always though James was ok and I didn't really get into the first episode that much but the second one I got the feeling of them and enjoyed it more. It's a good nice time killer, nothing special. No friends or frasier or anything that will grip you and leave you wanting more. Just an ok series and theres like six or eight episodes on each disc so plenty of them, oh you get four discs with this season. If you don't mind kind of corny at time humor this might suit ya, like I said good clean, plain, non gripping, but yet three stars worth of entertaining. Good for young kids to watch for sure. I might even buy the next two seasons if this show pulls me in more this week. I know kind of a messed up review, just trying to write it as I feel it.
