A blast - full of blues, soul and personality,
By Mencken "A Fan" (Los Angeles, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: According to Jim (Audio CD)
Got to start with - I really like the show and it's more like real life premise as opposed to most of the sitcoms out there. This CD is full of great blues songs played by great musicians who obviously love what they're doing. Jim himself also obviously loves this music and his warmth and humor (check out 300 lbs) come right through. Reminds me of a great bar band playing in a sweaty club on Saturday night (and that's a good thing!)

According to Jim Soundtrack,
This review is from: According to Jim (Audio CD)
This `According to Jim' soundtrack features songs from the TV series of the same name, as well as tracks inspired by the show. As you would expect from Jim Belushi this has lots of Chicago style blues and his inimitable harmonica playing. This can easily be enjoyed as a blue album in it's own right and if you're not a fan of the show, you can still enjoy this for the storming blues on offer. I particularly enjoy `Say I Do' which has a great upbeat tempo and `Three Hundred Pounds of Joy' has a great steady bluesy feel to it, but to be honest most of the tracks are pretty decent. This may be a series tie-in album, but it offers up some great blues tunes and is credible in it's own right. Worth checking out if you a fan of the show or of Chicago blues in general.
