2.0 out of 5 stars Your book has no answer key to the practice questions
to whom it may concern, this book is of little value when you can not check your work do to the fact it has no answer key for the practical exercises. If you have an answer key can you please provide at least the 1st four chapters. Thank you. Paines@emh10.bliss.army.mil

Being a teacher, I find this book is very useful for beiggners as well as for teachers. Basically, In my opinion, accounting can never be understood without concept and principles. This book satisfies all the basic requirements of learners. This book is written in simple and useful business enviornment. It depicts all the concepts and attracts it`s users. The accounting treatments are stated in a simple way. One should can easily understand the basic purpose of financial and manegerial accounting. Really this book is remarkable!! I found this book is very useful. I have not words in my mind to describe it`s actual utility. But one thing is that there is a lack of problems in few chapters, if that could also be included then I am assure that the major problem of practice should be solved. This book described in a simple way, How the accounting performs as the "Language of Business".

5.0 out of 5 stars Accounting Basics, June 5, 2009

This review is from: Accounting: The Basis for Business Decisions (10th ed) (Hardcover)
This textbook is an excellent source of accounting basics at the collegiate level. I originally purchased for Meigs course at USC and I've used it as a reference for years...so much so that my book was worn out so I reordered the latest edition...it is even better!

Was just getting started out with accounting, and this book was a great one to start out with. I solved a lot of examples in the back and luckily there are enough to satisfy even the most diligent student. I do wish that they had a solutions guide so I could check my work, but oh well. Anyway, very strongly recommended, after solving these examples, I believe that financial statements will be very easy to read and figure out. My whole aim was to understand accounting in order ot be a better investor. As Buffett says, accounting is the language of business. (When Warren was asked by the daughter of one of his business associates what courses to take in college, he replied "Accounting - it is the language of business")
