Helpful, but not a miracle worker.,

I found Essentials Accounting I to be very helpful in certain areas for my Accounting class, but it did not contain every aspect that my college course covered in Accounting 1 (there were about five chapters covered in class that were not in this book).Also, I found that some topics were not as clear to me as I would have hoped. But perhaps that was just my problem and not the fault of the book (Accounting is not an easy subject for most people). I found it best to go ahead and read the textbook even though this book claims it will eliminate "the need to read and review many pages of textbook and class notes." This may be true for those gifted by God with the ability to catch on easily, but I think most people won't find this book to be a total replacement for their textbook and class notes. This book is a really good supplement, however, and I do recommend anyone taking Accounting 1 to purchase it. If I had the choice all over again, I would still buy it. Just don't count on this book alone to pass such a tough course.
