As a full time arch-nemesis and part time super-villain, I give these tentacles two severed thumbs up. This product adds 80 per cent more menace to my gleeful hand-rubbing, and is responsible for a marked increase in lackey toadying, bowing, and general scraping. I've also found people reluctant to sit next to me on public transit, but that may be unrelated.

This listing CLEARLY STATES you get 5 fingers per item and I ordered 2 sets and received 2 single tentacles.

Saw a few similar items at a novelty stand during a flea market for 1/10th the price.

You are purchasing a SINGLE finger here...or as the ad states 'a "set" of one"

Unless you consider one tentacle a "set", that's roughly 50 bucks for one hand.

I know exactly which finger I'm going to be wearing mine on. If only the guy who made this ad could see it...

I bought a couple sets of these from ThinkGeek a while back, and I love the crap out of them. I worked in a haunted house at my local amusement park at the time, and occasionally I had one of the makeup artists paint my hand to match the tentacles and then blend into my arm, and then wore the tentacles in the house all night. I went around touching people with the tentacles and screaming at them to not anger the elder gods, and it freaked so many people out.

And when I'm not wearing them or harassing other humans or my cat with them, I just put them in random places all over my bedroom. One's sticking out of my stereo's cassette player, one's in a candle holder, one's hiding behind a plastic potted orchid.... People sometimes do a double take when they come into my room. :P

The only downside that I've noticed? They're a little big for me, and I had to wrap some cloth bandages around my smaller fingers in order for them to stay on. But I'm a skinny girl and have teeny tiny fingers anyway, so I don't think the average person will have that problem.

Bottom line? If you like silly and fun things, get these.

My daughter is a middle school teacher and used them as prizes. She said they were a hit with the kids.

If you're looking for an educational toy to teach someone about cephalapods, this really isn't, buuut, if you want to have oodles of fun walking around freaking people out who have a fear of tentacles, this is most certainly for you. These are great for parties with friends too because everyone gets a kick out of them and wants to try them out. Have a lot of fun hiding them in obscure places or food (like open bags of chips) to see if we can scare each other. Great fun.

These are a lot stiffer and heavier than I'd expected. They weigh about 27g each, so all together, they'll add about a quarter pound to your hand. I'm not sure why, but just looking at the photo, I got the impression that these would be made of a more stretchy and flexible silicone rubber, but the rubber is fairly stiff. It's definitely bendable, but not soft enough for the tentacles to undulate when you wiggle your fingers. And it really doesn't stretch at all. I could make the tentacles (which are all of identical size and shape) fit each of my finger with reasonable comfort, not because they stretch, but rather because you can slide them further up on the narrower fingers. But for me, it was uncomfortably tight on my thumb. And my hands are by no means huge. I have forced one of the tentacles onto a plastic tube which is somewhat wider than my thumb, hoping that this will stretch out the opening to better accommodate my thumb. But I'm not sure how well this will work. In my opinion, these would be a lot better if they were made of a softer, stretchier type of rubber; like that of silicone gel shoe inserts. Aside from that, they are pretty nice. The detail and texture, even the colors are pretty good. For the price, I don't regret buying them. But I'm not sure I would have bought them if I'd know they were so stiff.

I ordered two sets of these (5 tentacles each), so that I would have enough for both hands. I was really excited to receive these, as they were going to be a part of the Halloween costume that I am planning. However, I guess I was expecting them to be much more flexible and comfortable than they turned out to be. I had tried some similar ones on at a gag gift shop, and I had expected these to be the same material, but these are made of a slightly harder rubber that prevents them from flopping around quite as much. Because of the harder rubber, these don't stretch quite as much as the others that I had tried on and they seem to restrict some of the circulation in my fingers, so I don't know that I will be able to wear them all night for Halloween. I would say that I have small to average sized hands for a woman and these felt tight on all of my fingers except for my pinkies, which they are too big for. Color wise, they are as pictured. Orangey-pink colored on top with lighter pink bottoms. As far as quality goes, these seem great. So if you don't mind the issues with circulation, I would recommend these. Otherwise, I would recommend looking for a softer, more comfortable product elsewhere.
