Who knows why these things are so much fun, but, they are.

This listing CLEARLY STATES you get 5 fingers per item and I ordered 2 sets and received 2 single tentacles.

It seems at one time buyers used to get 5, but now only receive one.

As a full time arch-nemesis and part time super-villain, I give these tentacles two severed thumbs up. This product adds 80 per cent more menace to my gleeful hand-rubbing, and is responsible for a marked increase in lackey toadying, bowing, and general scraping. I've also found people reluctant to sit next to me on public transit, but that may be unrelated.

Saw a few similar items at a novelty stand during a flea market for 1/10th the price.

You are purchasing a SINGLE finger here...or as the ad states 'a "set" of one"

Unless you consider one tentacle a "set", that's roughly 50 bucks for one hand.

I know exactly which finger I'm going to be wearing mine on. If only the guy who made this ad could see it...

I bought a couple sets of these from ThinkGeek a while back, and I love the crap out of them. I worked in a haunted house at my local amusement park at the time, and occasionally I had one of the makeup artists paint my hand to match the tentacles and then blend into my arm, and then wore the tentacles in the house all night. I went around touching people with the tentacles and screaming at them to not anger the elder gods, and it freaked so many people out.

And when I'm not wearing them or harassing other humans or my cat with them, I just put them in random places all over my bedroom. One's sticking out of my stereo's cassette player, one's in a candle holder, one's hiding behind a plastic potted orchid.... People sometimes do a double take when they come into my room. :P

The only downside that I've noticed? They're a little big for me, and I had to wrap some cloth bandages around my smaller fingers in order for them to stay on. But I'm a skinny girl and have teeny tiny fingers anyway, so I don't think the average person will have that problem.

Bottom line? If you like silly and fun things, get these.

My daughter is a middle school teacher and used them as prizes. She said they were a hit with the kids.

You only get one tentacle, not a set. Serious rip-off. It seems at one time buyers used to get 5, but now only receive one.

If you're looking for an educational toy to teach someone about cephalapods, this really isn't, buuut, if you want to have oodles of fun walking around freaking people out who have a fear of tentacles, this is most certainly for you. These are great for parties with friends too because everyone gets a kick out of them and wants to try them out. Have a lot of fun hiding them in obscure places or food (like open bags of chips) to see if we can scare each other. Great fun.

I've been buying these for years from Archie McPhee and assorted shops whenever I run across them. I bring them to my flameworking glass classes as student gifts, because who doesn't need a tentacle to wave at teach? They're great (funky) products, good quality, and I love the little stinkers! This 5-pack? The best price I've found, EVER, anyplace. I'll be buying from this vendor from now on. Good fast service, too.
