Short version: DMX cables ARE different than XLR cables, and this cable performs fine at a very good value. I use it every weekend to connect a pair of Chauvet 4Bar lighting units. Very satisfied.

I'm confident in these cables. I've been using them for 4 or 5 months now and find them better made than others I've purchased. The large velcro strap is handy not only for ID purposes, but it's actually long enough to re-use when wrapping up your cords. Amazon has a great price, and whenever I need a filler item, I pick up an extra cable... never know when the stage is going to be a bit too big!

There's nothing fun or exciting about buying cables, but sometimes it's a necessary evil.
I bought some LED DMX lights and a controller, so, of course, I had to buy some cables to hook everything up. I have a truss behind the drummer and two smaller trusses on either side in front of the band. I needed some 50' cables to connect the trusses.
Since DMX is like a computer network, you shouldn't use audio cable. I bought a few of these cables, hooked everything up, and then there was light.
I found some cables that had a cheaper advertised price, but after the (extravagant) shipping and handling charges, Amazon's price was about the same.
I would recommend these cables to anyone setting up a DMX light show.

These cables have provided consistant signal without interruption. I was using basic speaker cables at first and knew I needed to get real dmx cables. I am happy I went with the accu cables.

Bought this and a 25 foot cable for an organization. They tell me it works great and they have experienced no problems. Good price and fast delivery as well.
