I've owned and used the same caliper for many years now and it's always been quite accurate. The reason I know it's been accurate is because in the past, I paid good money for three (3) other methods of analyzing my body fat and they always showed the same readings as my Accu-Measure Body Fat Caliper...always!
This product has served me well, held up to years of use and far exceeds the term 'cost effective'. I highly recommend it.

This product was exactly what I was looking for. The instructions can be a little hard to follow at first, but if you test it out a few times it will make sense.

Works Ok- for a simple piece of plastic : struggles to "click" and lock measurement

In short, if you know what you are doing; these body weight calipers will work really well for you.
I utilized a video provided by Scooby1961 (knowledgeable but different guy) to show me visually how to use the calipers (much better than instructions. My issue is with the plastic ball and cup that is supposed to "click" when you have finished taking the measurement. Sometimes it clicks, sometimes it doesn't. It all depends on how much pressure you apply when clamping and if the plastic male part fits into the female part right. I generally had a 70% click (good) experience to a 30% no click (bad) experience. My girlfriend struggled to get this device to click and I could see some "basic" users having issues with this device. Overall it's a piece of plastic and you can generally tell your body weight/fat ratio by looking in a mirror. Google "body fat sizes" and it'll show you general percentage paired up with someone who has say 30% BF, 20% BF...etc.

Good instrument for the price
Does its job, accurate and easy to use.
You have to look on line calculators to get a more accurate measument. But the caliper per se is fantastic.

Good Tool
Nice tool but I like the electronic stuff better. It seems like you need several of these for several parts of your body to get the most accurate reading.
