5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended All Purpose Brad Nailer

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended All Purpose Brad Nailer, January 20, 2000

Although this is the first brad nailer that I have purchased, I've used others in the past. I don't use a brad nailer day in and day out but I wanted to have one for my own remodeling and project use. After researching all the brad nailers out there as much as I could (product research is a hobby of mine as well)I was drawn to the A200BN by the price and the variety of fastener sizes it could shot. I was rather empressed with the A200BN from the first time I used it. I've used it with none structural jambs (not supporting hinges),casing moldings, and even 2-5/8 ceiling cove without a problem. Although a 18 gauge fastener does have it's limitations I found the A200BN to be an all time saver for me,especially since I can really do damage to a piece of molding with a hammer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect, August 19, 2000
This review is from: AccuSet A200BN 2¿ 18-Gauge Brad Nailer Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
I expected a little more from a nailer that says Senco in little letters on the side. I know it's not a true Senco but I guess it's the closest thing. I've had several brad nailers and this is my second favorite. It beats the other imports hands down. Plenty of power. Smooth operation. Very quiet. Depth of drive is easily adjustable . I love the exhaust. It's not adjustable. It doesn't have to be. It is muffled and gradually exits the tool at the back of the handle. No more blowing dust around the room or worse in your eyes! I wish all guns implemented this improvement.I also like the rather large rubber grip. About the only complaint I have is the no mar tip is easy to lose. Oh and it's not as refined as a Senco. But neither is anything else.

When I purchased this lovely little brad nailer I seriously set out with the intention of buying the more expensive Senco. What changed my mind? How about a wider range of nail length, adjustable depth of drive, and a much better exhaust. Senco say they aim this gun at the DIY/light trade end of the market, don't be fooled this is a very durable reliable little nailer. Why only four stars - the no-mar tip is not as good as the more expensive Senco's (but around here if you lose one they replace it free) and it would be nicer if it was an oiless gun, but hey at this price I can't argue.

I had a substantial amount of tools stolen last year. so when i re-tooled I wanted to try some different products. Have been very pleased with this brad nailer. Cant think of any complaints with the accuset. The tip likes to wiggle loose if you dont watch it. I use it for trim and furniture projects. Depth of drive is handy and consistent. I' buy it again...twice

This is the only finish brad nailer I know of that shoots 5/8" to 2" 18 gauge finish brads. No need to have several different guns for different size brads, this one does it all. Workmanship on this product is excellent, as you would expect from Accuset/Senco. A great all around gun for all types of finish carpentry.

The tool performed flawlessly from the time I first put air to it.Excellent ergonomincs and plenty of power for all hardwood and soft. The best part is the driver leaves a hole noe bigger than the brad head.I liked it better than the Porter Cable and the Bostich. I have other nailers by both other companies.

This is a great gun that can still be picked up from various vendors (at beyond belief prices) if you hurry. Senco has a great warranty and is standing behind this product, regardless of the fact that the Accuset name is being discontinued. I was told by a Senco rep. that all parts and accessories will still be available through them directly IF you need them. I personally have had great luck with the gun and don't anticipate any problems. You might want to look at their pinner as well. You wouldn't believe how small the nails AND holes are!

I hesitated to buy an air nailer...not being able to find a good one that utilized 5/8" to 2". As a DIY, I'm having a blast with this very well built product. In my shop, I cannot qualify the Senco nailer (not necessary to drive to the supermarket in a Rolls Royce). Great product for the money. The only down side is the ease with which the protective tip falls off and can be lost.

5.0 out of 5 stars No marks = Nice gun, June 13, 2001
This review is from: AccuSet A200BN 2¿ 18-Gauge Brad Nailer Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
Two things are important in buying a quality air nailer. Does it have a two stage trigger, and how well dows it hold up? This gun has a two stage trigger that allows you to remove the nose of the gun prior to releaseing the hammer. The release of the hammer on woodwork is what creats the mark or dent in the wood. Theoretically you should be able to use this gun without a plastic nose portector and still not marr your wood. (I'll have to try it). And as far as durabillity... AccuSet, AccuSet, AccuSet!
