5.0 out of 5 stars I own a lot of sharpeners - This is THE BEST!
I was up in Oregon this summer and browsing a hardware store and saw this sharpener. Needing a good, light sharpener for my hunting fanny pack, I bought one. I don't care what anyone else says, I guarantee this is the BEST knife sharpener you will ever own. It puts and keeps a scalpel-like hone on all my knives. The Buck knife I carry with me all the time is as sharp...

3.0 out of 5 stars works well but it's the same sharpener as the knife version
I bought this for my mower blade and lawn tools after having a good experience with the plain white knife version that was $4-5 less than this one on Amazon. I assumed by the description of "tool sharpener" that this was a beefier/bigger model for tools. It's not... it's the same exact product as the white knife sharpener but in a camo finish. Unless you're worried...

I bought this for my mower blade and lawn tools after having a good experience with the plain white knife version that was $4-5 less than this one on Amazon. Unless you're worried about a deer spotting you in the woods while sharpening your knife, just skip this one and buy the plain white knife model and save yourself a few bucks.

The Buck knife I carry with me all the time is as sharp as a surgeons scalpel. It only takes a few very light strokes and your knife is sharper than razor-sharp! You will never be sorry you bought one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Knife Sharpener, Made in the USA, True Lifetime Warranty, January 6, 2012
This review is from: AccuSharp 005 Camo Tool Sharpener (Tools & Home Improvement)
AccuSharps are by far the best knife sharpeners I've ever owned. The tungsten carbide sharpener bits require only a couple of passes to restore just about any knife's original sharpness. The first 'plain' one I've been using for more than 3 years and it's still as efficient as on 'day one'.

The manufacturer claims that the sharpeners should last for several years but, surprise, you can get double its life by reversing the bits - all you need is to remove 2 screws, reverse the bits and then tighten the screws back. The manufacturer's claim was persuasive enough for me to not regret saving a few bucks and actually ordering the version that does not include the replacement blades.

For non-commercial users, the manufacturer promises to fix or replace any unit for any reason if the owner returns it with $4.00 to cover postage and handling. There are no lawyery warranty exclusions or exorbitant fees or requests to provide extensive documentation. Now THAT's what I call a honest warranty policy.

I am very happy with this purchase and I am happy to note that not all of our manufacturing went overseas. If you need a knife sharpener I just can't see how you could get any better for the price. I'd say "go for it!". And if you don't think that the camo is worth a couple extra dollars, get the white and blue version. Same quality, only cheaper.

1.0 out of 5 stars pull through sharpner, May 3, 2009
This review is from: AccuSharp 005 Camo Tool Sharpener (Tools & Home Improvement)
Pull through sharpeners do not work their a gimmick you see the angle of the bevel that makes the edge varies from steel to steel the only way to sharpen a knife or anything else for that matter properly is to do it by hand or buy a machine that will run you close to 1000$s the "edge" that these sharpeners leave while it may feel sharp to the touch it's whats called a false edge do yourself a real favor skip this and get a DMT sharpener I make knives and handle all sorts of sharps on a daily basis this item is a edge destruction machine
