As far as weather goes, it is not great but not bad... However, what bugs me is that the PLATINUM (paid) version is a lesser version than the free one!!! Platinum=2.0.1.0, free=2.1.2. And from what I saw, the free one is less buggy and has a few additional features that the paid one does not!

BOO to Accuweather for giving paying customers a less feature-rich product than free users! I can only therefore rate it a 2. Fix this, Accuweather, and I will re-evaluate.

The only reason a weather app would need this many permissions is if they were selling your personal info to advertisers to further their profit from an already paid app. Shameless money-grab. Read the privacy statement.

why the heck with this program, a weather application, need just about every android permission there is? especially if they don't even explain them to you, why would anybody in their right mind buy this app?

I already owned the free version on my Kindle HD and have had it on my android phone for a year. I find it very accurate and quite informative. However, in Amazon's recent sale - I purchased this "Premium" app thinking I was getting more content. To me, the promotion implies that there will be the extra screens such as "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs", "The Tuscan Sun" and "The Perfect Storm" - I stupidly thought these were going to be part of the premium app and could be configured in some way, which is the only reason I bought it. Wrong again - this appears to just be an Amazon way of promoting it. While I am extremely happy with my Fire HD, I think this is a bit of false advertising on Amazon's part.

Apparently the only difference between this app and the free one is - wait for it... NOTHING! The only thing I've gotten for my .99 was a red banner across my sunshine proclaiming "Sale!" on my app icon. Whoopee! Don't bother - stick with the free one. I've already dumped it and reinstalled the free one.

ETA: Okay- the only thing different is that there are ads (completely out of the way) on the free one. They don't inhibit your viewing and you can hardly hit them by accident.

I've contacted Accuweather customer service per Amazon's advice (they didn't refund me but I didn't beg) but I won't necessarily hold my breath waiting for their answer.

I paid for this app, but it still has a nag screen that pops up asking me to rate it. Well, here you go. One star. You have my money and if I had wanted to rate your app I would have done it myself, without you nagging me to do so.

A weather app does NOT need to see or write to my calendar, nor does it need to make phone calls without going through dialer so I can't stop it or know about it. DO NOT BUY!

Predicts the same 7.4 inches of snow a week out... never happens. Force closes at least twice everytime it's opened or when changing locations. Definitely needs some work.
