Very good variety of songs with many different influences. This band is really great to see live. Don't worry about Mark Bychowski's negative review (see other reviews)--listen for yourself and decide if Fred Leblanc's songs are not good. Since he bashes Fred in all his reviews, he surely has an agenda. Maybe Fred took his toys away from him when he was little.

I grew up with Dash Rip Rock in Louisiana. I would buy the record just to say thank you for countless great parties, but this is a quality release. I bought it partially because it has a copy of Marsupial, which was one of the first songs that ever received airplay in south LA. As with most bands, the early material usually has more legs as is the case with this release

DASH Kicks Ass !!!,

Have been a long time fan of the band from the Bayou. This is an excellent entree into the world of Dash (Basco). If you ever have the chance to witness Dash "live" it's truly an amazing experience not soon forgotten. I reccomend all of their work with the exception of "Tiger Town" in which they were obviously wasted and hired the former producer of Hanoi Rocks (something like that). Seriously, DRR is truly an amazing effort you will not regret! I often find myself sitting in my Grand Torino with a 40, wishing "if only Dash were available on 8 track." DRR could have the same effect on you!The Mayor of Lawrence Kansas

dash rip rock's second record is a better sounding improvement on their debut, with many songs remaining in their set today. mud island is a historical civil war song, all hung up is great pop, leave me alone to my bottle is one of rock's great odes to alcohol & misery & johnny ace is a punk ode to the legendary singer, "a rock and roll jesus with a cowboy mouth". the downside of this record is the presence of FOUR (4) songs by future cowboy mouth leader/buffoon fred leblanc. the only one worth anything is jenny says, which fred, knowing it was the only decent song he'd ever written, rerecorded THREE more times until it became an "alternative radio" pseudo-hit. for fred in all his garbage glory, listen to love money time, but just once as the stink wont leave your room for days. as long as you have a programmable cd player, this is a great purchase..
