5.0 out of 5 stars Great tales of WWII Flying Ace, September 24, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: An Ace and His Angel: Memoirs of a WWII Fighter Pilot (Hardcover)
An Ace and His Angel is a wonderful read. These tales, in WWII flying Ace "Stub" Hatch's own words, transport you back to a very unique time in American and World history. Hatch not only recounts his memories of bravely flying air combat missions over the European continent, but also tells of the real human emotion involved when men go to war. I highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to read about valor, courage, and what it meant to be a fighter pilot in the World's biggest war.

Hatch does an outstanding job. His insight and descriptions into what could get you killed in a hurry is second to none. If you like fighter pilot books this is a good one. Each chapter is actually a short story in itself. Can be read in one sitting too.
