The photographs were misleading. The wooden tai chi swords that I got were not like the photo. Not including the tassle, the balance point is 12 inches from the butt (I would have preferred it to be closer to the handle, maybe about 8 inches from the butt), but because it is so light (4.6 oz) it really did not matter. The sword looks like it was made of bamboo wood. Because it was so inexpensive, I did not bother to complain or try to return it.

If you are going to use this for tai chi, you should ask your instructor. My instructor did not like this sword.

ok first off if i was allowed to give "no stars" as my review i would.
this so called 'hand-made' sword is such a piece of crap, that i am filled with the desire to see the hands that made it just so that i can hit said hands with a large ruler and say "NO" with my finger pointed harshly in their faces. the blade is all chipped up with layers scrapped off and visibly damaged that im afraid it'll just break by taking it out of the scabbard. the decalls are nothing more than lightly colored templets which half came off, just by me taking it out of the box, the blade itself is so cheaply made and so thin, i am afraid that a gentle wind from two blocks over might make it fall off out of sheer sadness. it appears that the person using the belt sander to get the blade and scabbard to be a uniformed thickness took a lunch break and came back an hour later, for there is huge gouge marks on booth sides, meaning i am gonna have to try and repair this p.o.s myself. i got this as a prop for an up coming costume contest and the only way i can ever use it now, is if i want to go as a "guy how got ripped off,"which oddly enough i already have the pants for. if you are looking for a low cost sword with a scabbard, look somewhere else. this product is a trash-can full of poop left to bake in the hot texas sun.

Should have read the dimensions better. This sword is pretty much child sized, and the blade is much thinner and flimsier than the photos would lead you to believe. Not big enough for an adult to use as a tai chi sword. Also both that I ordered were warped.

There was no size given with the sword picture and it was not a long as it looked. Needed longer length.

Was purchased to practice with damaging my sword or things in the house.
Served it's purpose. I had ordered a few items, and they came in a way too big box and the sword came broken,
contacted them, returned the damaged one and got another one right away.
