My attention was just brought to the reviews above and I am very grateful for them. The book is in its first edition and we will work on fixing the issues in the next edition.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poorly organized. Many mistakes
For $80, I expected much more. While I believe this material will help me increase my language skills, the format is a major source of frustration. The articles go right to left in Persian order, but the pages go left to right like an English-language book. So, when an article continues onto the next page (as most do), it's often confusing where the article resumes. The...

My attention was just brought to the reviews above and I am very grateful for them. The book is in its first edition and we will work on fixing the issues in the next edition.

However, if you are trying to improve your reading and listening skills in Farsi this book contains the largest amount of audio available in any Farsi education book in the market (6.5 hours of authentic audio) and text that covers a plethora of subjects not covered in one place in any other Farsi training book on the market. These two facts alone will provide the Farsi student with practice and time on task like no other book out there. If you are serious about improving your Farsi skills and taking it to advanced levels then this book was made for you.

As far as comments on editing. This book was edited by a team of native Farsi linguists over a three year period, and we made sure that it is bullet-proof as far as the language content is concerned. I would appreciate any debugging by users and you can email me directly at [...] with those comments.

Again, we are grateful for the reviews and we will take care of it in the second edition.

For $80, I expected much more. While I believe this material will help me increase my language skills, the format is a major source of frustration. The articles go right to left in Persian order, but the pages go left to right like an English-language book. So, when an article continues onto the next page (as most do), it's often confusing where the article resumes. The reading selections themselves are very long and the questions for the most part are fact-based (language level 1&2 type questions: who, what, when, etc). To get to higher language levels, which such tests as the DLPT purport to measure, there need to be more opinion and analytical type questions. Some questions like for selection #4 do not even match the subject matter. I've also found quite a few typos. The content of the articles is varied, but the majority of them deal with countries other than Iran. What's up with that? For $80, this book should have been better thought out, proofread, and formatted. I'm disappointed.

The way the pages are organized is crazy. The pages go left to right, like an English language book, but the order on each page is right to left. You have to go to the questions and backtrack, or you'll be hopelessly confused. I thought about taking the pages out and rebinding them, but the way the pages are printed, that won't help. I haven't gotten real far in the book, but the 4th selection is about PETA protesters at a KFC in Singapore, and the questions are about speed cameras. Can't wait to see what else I find. That said, the material is good and I am keeping and working through the book. But come on, for $80????
