You will be surprised, but believe me you don't know how many times it becomes useful so you don't have to bend down to connect and disconnect lamps, fans and other appliances around your house. I needed several of these extensions so purchase three different brands and they are all about the same. Just go ahead and choose according to length, color and price wise.

Works well for me. I wish it was a little longer for where I'm using it, but not a huge issue. Switch is easy enough to use and feels well built.
