I wish I had this hoe years ago, after looking at different ones online I decided on this one and ordered it at a local ace hdwe store. Yesterday I picked it up on the way to work, (2nd shift), and sharpened it at work and tried it out this morning, I love it, makes short work of weeding and your back does not ache when you're done, very simple to use! For reviewers Julie and KK, yes you have to sharpen it and once you do it works great.
Now how to sharpen, turn the tool upside down and follow the contours on each side, the outside 1/8 " or so, you will see it after you turn it upside down it's quite obvious. I use a 10" inch bastard mill file, you file following the outside edge on each side, just lay the file down angled the same as the edge that is already there, put a little pressure on your stroke as you push the file forward and left or right, first the coating will come off, then you start removing metal, don't get carried away you don't want it too sharp. If you are not sure how much to sharpen just try a little and see how it works, if it is not sharp enough, take a little more off, believe me after you sharpen it you will love the way it works.
Hold the hoe at a slight angle, not much and push it back and forth just a little under the soil, it only takes a little pressure in good soil, in heavy clay soil a little more pressure and you want clay soil to be fairly dry before weeding with this..Enjoy
