This book is a lot of fun. A french agent has made a terrible discovery about a new German weapon, and G-8 is ordered to go and find out what it is.
He does, and ends up having to sneak back into Germany through No Man's Land to find out what is up. What follows is almost a Black Adder style comedy of capture, jail, running around in mines, etc. It gets more serious when G-8 desperately needs to escape to avoid a firing squad, and get news back to the Allies about the undetectable new 'White Death' weapon. Bull and Nippy fly in, and we repeat some of the earlier events, but with shooting, dead people and dogfights. |
