I bought this 6 weeks ago, hoping that it could really do what the company's advertising claimed. I have kept it at my side ever since, while working on a large curriculum project. I've been using it to record bits and pieces of my research results, which come to me at times when my computers are not necessarily running, in both English and German.
You can trust the claims if my experiences are typical. The hardware is sturdy, well thought out, and easy to use. Nor have I been disappointed with the scanning software for German and English.
The data-storage system is genuinely intuitive and, so far, completely reliable. I store on an SD card, which I can then drop into my laptop or desktop. At the same time I have the hard copy as backup. By paginating my sheets as I write, I can find my texts on the SD instantly.
Conversion from hand-writing to an .rtf file is extremely uncomplicated and fast, too.
Be sure you get the software upgrade - MyNotes - from the beginning and you'll not be disappointed. The handy notebook folder in extra, but really rounds off the package so that it is completely self-contained. I'm glad I went for it.

Replaced the entire pen because it was the same price as replacing the batteries. Works fine

This is a great digital pen that works for both note taking and classroom teaching. I teach at the university level and these pens work perfectly with powerpoint or any other software that allows digital pens as mouse inputs. It writes in ink on the paper while providing input for digital capture. I bought extra pens so I would never have to go without them again!

I purchased the Digipen P100 as a back up for the one that came with the Solidtek DM-L2 Digimemo Digital Notepad that I bought 12/09. The notepad and pen work as advertised with one cavaet. You must have the Digimemo Handwriting Recognition software, and if you want your handwriting converted to print to be used in other software (Microsoft Word, etc.) you must complete the handwritting recognition profile, which took me about 1 1/2 hours.
As with any handwritting software there are a few letters that are not correctly recognized, but I am very happy with this product. Great for transferring notes to your computer

This product is comfortable to use. I have no problems with it. Not much more to say. I'm happy.

This is a replacement pen that only works on the Digimemo note taking system. This is not a stand-alone pen that I was looking for. This product was listed alongside stand-alone digital and nowhere in the description did it say this pen required the digimemo system. The comments were also misleading as they spoke of the digimemo product, not mentioning this is just a replacement pen. I got burnt hard on this one.

The underlying product works great. I keep losing them. My first replacement had a battery that wouldn't stay put and it was very difficult to maintain it in position. Of course I have already lost that one and I am waiting for the 3rd pen. I like the tablet system, though.

I really like the DigiMemo that this pen goes to, but the pen itself is pretty cheap. Probably some design limitations they have to deal with. Also, I wanted a second pen as a backup, but I hope I don't have to keep buying new pens just to get the ink cartridges.

Didgipen is a nice pen for any gift or just for your desk or Purse.
