1.0 out of 5 stars Thumbs down for Acer customer service!, June 2, 2009
This review is from: Acer Aspire 5535-5452 Laptop (Electronics)
Guys please be very careful when buying Acer computers. A week ago i bought two brand new computers for me and my husband, when my husband opened his box and tried turning on his computer, it would not turn on. No power whatsoever and we called Acer customer's service and they tried troubling shooting with us but nothing worked. We were on the phone with two people that seemed battery operated as they read directly from their programs and repeatedly told us they would not replace the brand new obviously DEFECTIVE computer that we bought through amazon and supplied by Tiger Direct. We were back and forth for two hours with two of their customer service agents who told us that we need to send the computer to an Acer repair center. One of the two agents claimed to be the supervisor he was just as "helpful" as his employee.Long and short they said they would not be able to replace their brand new laptop (still in its original package)but offered to repair under warranty with shipping cost to their repair station at our expense. I was so hurt and felt broken, and the two "friendly" robots from acer added more blows to our ears as they told us that we just got a bad one out of the batch and told us that this happens....how rude! After two hours back and forth and time wasting from the Acer robots we decided to call Tiger Direct the supplier and in less than a minute they said they would replace it...Thank You Tiger Direct but i would advise Acer to adapt some of Tiger Direct Customer service skills and professionalism.
I cannot post a review on this pc as it could not even turn on.

1.0 out of 5 stars Acer Laptop Screen quit working Twice within First Year, June 23, 2009
This review is from: Acer Aspire 5535-5452 Laptop (Electronics)
The screen quit working after only 4 months. They "fixed" it. Then it quit working again after only 4 more months.

It costs you a ton of money and time to have to ship for repair poor quality products that break so quickly.. Think twice before buying an Acer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Acer, August 3, 2009
This review is from: Acer Aspire 5535-5452 Laptop (Electronics)
The laptop itself is great! It is very nice and good working. But the Acer company is not so helpful. It is written everywhere about the new deal - free upgrade from Vista Home Premium to 7 Premium, and if you buy a laptop after June 26, the product may be eligible for this upgrade. For exact info contact the manufacturer. So I did. And after a month and several registrations they still do not know or do not want to tell me, if this product is eligible. It is not written anywhere on their web which product is and which is not, so I guess the are playing dice or what. This is the most confusing deal I have ever heard about! It is just the way to stimulate people to buy new stuff... I am very upset now, I am gonna refund this laptop and buy another one from a company, which is able to set and tell direct and clear conditions!
