While I used it I put in a solid state drive which made the boot and load times very fast,
and I also switched it to 2gb of RAM. The 2gb of RAM is the max supported but is still fairly low
and also requires you to upgrade to a higher version of Windows than Starter, the default that comes with it.
This unit is extremely light, comparable to a tablet like an iPad.
If you are looking for a cheap unit that travels very easily and can run some of basic programs then I say this is a great buy
if you can get it for around the low $100 range and put in an SSD.
But if you are looking for this to be your main computing option then you are better off buying something else.
After getting the recommended 2GB RAM, I am now reluctant to tear it all apart for the minimal improvement noted by others. One suggested using a 4GB instead, and got great results. It makes too much sense to get this instead, if a RAM upgrade is to be done, even though the manufacturer states it can only take 2GB. Besides the reviewer I read, has anyone else done this?
Overall I like the machine, and it is a very good price.
