I liked it so much, that I bought another one for my wife for Christmas and she loves it too.

Below some pros and cons about it: Pros: small size, light weight, excellent performance, good look and feel, good keyboard (large keys), it doesn't overheat.

Anything smaller makes me squint and want to lean towards the monitor, and anything bigger gets bulkier and a little harder to carry.

I have bought this notebook as I travel every day to work. I'm amazed about this little thing and am very happy with my choice. This is a fantastic notebook in a netbook shell. Below some pros and cons about it:

Pros: small size, light weight, excellent performance, good look and feel, good keyboard (large keys), it doesn't overheat.

Cons: small touchpad with little sensibility (specially the scroll function), poor webcam.

As I'm used to almost all Windows hotkeys, the touchpad lack of sensibility is not a huge cons (at the point of loosing one star), and the webcam is barely used.

I highly recomend this notebook. It is being a great company for me!

I agree with the other user that this is essentially a notebook in a netbook sized case. It's quite fast and can handle a lot- much more than previous netbooks that I've owned. Sure the keyboard is a little small like a different reviewer noted but you cannot possibly have a full-sized keyboard fit into something so small and portable. The 11.6" screen size is the perfect mix between portable and viewable, in my opinion. Anything smaller makes me squint and want to lean towards the monitor, and anything bigger gets bulkier and a little harder to carry. Also, I should note that I don't have any issues with the viewing angle; it's no better or worse than other laptops that I have had. I carry this around in my backpack or tucked into a stack of papers (it actually has a smaller footprint than a sheet of paper) when I go to meetings and it's not heavy or inconvenient for an average sized person. If you are sure that you want a netbook sized computer than I firmly believe that this is the best you can get for the price- especially if you have compared netbook screen sizes.

Feel free to ask me any questions that you may have about this netbook.

I had mine for 10 days and returned it. Did not buy it here. Not a bad netbook depending on your needs and preferences. I'll give you my pros/cons. Aside from the scratch on the screen, the reasons for my disliking were mainly personal issue with the 1830t. You may not have an issue.

Pros
* Great battery life (5.5-6.5 hrs)
* Hardy processor
* Very nice look and design (had a carbon fiber look)

Cons
* Audio is poor (not only external speakers but I struggled to hear on plane with earphones--with jet engines, etc)

* I HATED the keyboard (one of my main gripes) Not only are the keys flat but they are so close together its difficult to feel for placement. I could not type at any decent speed or accuracy. The keyboard size and layout was okay.

* Touch pad is VERY small and not sensitive. This was not a major issue for me bcse I don't care for most touch pads and use a mini mouse. However, it is a poor design and poor quality.

* And finally, the screen viewing angle (vertical) was really bad. Even a very small movement and I'd be adjusting the screen angle otherwise the colors would wash out.

If those things in the "CON" category don't bother you, get this computer. It is a good pc for the cost. The processor handles most everything you would do on a netbook (Note: I'm not a gamer so I didn't try). It streamed video well and even to my 42" TV.

This computer will not run Windows 7 SP1. The Intel HD Graphics requires an updated driver before SP1 will install. (See MS KB2498452.) While Intel has released generic drivers, Acer will not allow them to be installed (neither the zip nor exe nor manual installation will complete). Acer insists that only their OEM graphics driver can be installed, which is an obsolete version of the Intel driver -- one that is incompatible with SP1. I'm still in warranty, and went through several levels of Acer tech support to no avail. They have no solution, and no intention of providing one. All they do is offer to charge me money to "walk me through" pointless repetitive exercises. Their position is that SP1 is a new operating system and they have no obligation to support it. Then why block the solutions that others provide? Goodbye Acer.

This is a duplicate of my review on the TimelineX 1830T-3721 which has a faster processor and more memory/disk. But in case others don't see that reivew because this is a different product, I'll republish it. For my use (and that of my wife for whom I bought a second device), there are no appreciable differences given our use of these great little laptops...

After over 10 years of being a DELL guy, I began to look at alternatives for my aging Dell Latitude. I was looking for something powerful, but not much bigger than a netbook. I'm an international road warrior and need to keep my load light. I carry a company computer but can't put any non-approved content on this device (company policy). So I'm forced to carry a personal laptop on my long trips.

I saw the ACER TimelineX during a connection through the Hong Kong Airport and was immediately impressed with the form factor. When I returned home, I began to investigate the device and found that the feedback was universally positive. I was a little hesitant to depart from my loyalty to DELL but they didn't have a similar product. So I cashed in some credit card points for an Amazon gift card and took the plunge to become an ACER customer.

Wow. This machine has outperformed my expectations. I use it for Microsoft office Applications, games, movies, Skype and photo editing. The power and disk capacity is well beyond anything that I would need. The small footprint an light load have reduced my carry on weight by 2 pounds. I bought a tip for my iGO travel charger to further lighten my load. With access to sites like Netflix, I no longer have to worry about carting around a DVD. I do have a USB DVD that works fine with this device.
