I recently bought this computer and was pleasantly surprised. It's smaller than my monitor and is sitting on top of my desk. I love the wi-fi feature but what really shocked me was the noise factor! There is none. There is no sound at all. The only way I can tell that it's on is too look at the blue light on it. My one complaint is that if you want to upgrade your ram you have to move your disk drive to reach the board. I decided against it for now.

Cool, no heat, no noise, clean and neat. I really love it. Compare to the HP which is hot and noisy, Acer has my support now.

After purchasing a 42 inch back lit LED TV, I was in the market for an HTPC. The choice was to either by a complete system (Acer 3910-4022) or build my own mini ITX Intel i3 HTPC. Low noise was my biggest concern since the computer is sitting in my living room it needed to be super quite. After installing all of the parts of the mini ITX system I turned it on and the fan noise from both the CPU and the power supply was too loud for my liking. I started up the 4022 and noticed that it was super quite. I even bought an extra graphics card Radeon 5450 1G DDR3 Silent thinking that I would need a better graphics card than the built in Intel 4500. After trying to install the card I realized that the heat sink was about 2mm too tall and would not fit. So I said what the heck, installed XBMC as the media center and played about 5 movies. I was surprised at how smooth the video quality was with the built in graphics card. There was never a skip and everything worked out of the box. Since then I've watched quite a few movies, mostly action and all works well. Combined with a bluetooth keyboard this system rocks as a media center. Compared to the mini ITX system I saved about $200 bucks buying the 4022 and everything worked with little effort. I even compared the video quality against my Intel Quad Q6600, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia 8600GTS 512 MB ram and noticed no difference. Granted the 8600 GTS is an older card but I don't think a newer card would make any difference since the video quality is smooth. Connectivity from the 4022 is HDMI to my TV and optical to my receiver. I was hoping for HDMI to my receiver for everything but for some reason my receiver wasn't able to redisplay any video coming from the 4022. I'm pretty positive it is a receiver issue since HDMI directly to the TV works fine.

Great deal for the price!! Set up was incredibly simple. You get a keyboard and mouse along with the computer. The installed wireless card is a bonus when compared to other desktops in this price range. The profile is trim, USB ports (plenty!)are easy access, and it comes pre-loaded with Office so all I had to do was activate. No complaints!

This is a small footprint computer with a nice amount of ram. It is quiet and fast. I was pleased with the computer for a few initial hours of use. Until it began to reboot. I thought maybe I was having updating windows 7 issues but even after I set updates to manual the computer would just occasionally reboot out of the blue.

I finally called Acer "support" a month into my ownership. They informed me that I had a hardware only warranty and after connecting remotely reassured me that I had a terrible Infection in my registry and that they would be glad to fix it for 350 bucks. They said they were absolutely sure that it wasn't a hardware issue and that even though I had used Comodo Internet Security from day one and had used spy bot on the machine, that these free tools were no good. They then reassured me that even if I were to wipe the disk and re install everything from scratch that this would not be effective. Not only not effective but also could infect my recovery disk, they were seeing a lot of this.

When I asked if they were "ACER" support they informed me - after some inquiry that they said actually were a contractor. I asked them merely to record the call and make a ticket for future reference. They refused and got me off the phone too fast. I would not recommend Acer on the basis that if you need warranty service you get them telling lies to scare you and trying to sell you an overpriced and unnecessary service.

Wow! For this old man's uses (spreadheets/database/word processing/email/browsing)it's a huge improvement.
This is my first desktop in six years. I'd been using laptops in our living room and library but after converting a storage room in my hobby shop building to a personal-just-for-me space, I decided to go back to desktop.
With so many USB connections, I don't need to unplug anything to hook up something else.
For a monitor, I got an ASUS VH238H. It's fine except for the obtuse picture adjustment controls.
My only gripe with this computer (and it's a minor gripe) is that the sound card cuts out the 5.1 speaker connections when HDMI is used to connect to the monitor. For this reason, I settled on a small, cheap 2.1 sound system with which I'm 5-star happy: CA-3602.
NOTE: Windows7 does not support the good old Works document system. Rather than spending 300 or so bucks on Microsoft products, I downloaded the FREE OpenOffice package.... It's great!
