4.0 out of 5 stars Love my Acers.
Purchased this Acer as a second netbook. I plan on keeping it in the kitchen with all of my recipes so as to minimize clutter. I also have an 8.9" Acer for everyday use and travel.

I love the screen. No weird aspect ratio so it doesn't affect viewing certain programs, like Cricut Design Studio. On my other Acer I had to scroll to see the entire screen...

3.0 out of 5 stars nice netbook, vista... not so nice
I've had problems with my netbook locking up... not anything in particular as a trigger. I blame it on Vista being too much of a memory hog.

I have noticed the lack of a disc drive a bit cumbersome at times, like when installing the printer programming. but this little netbook has been good for travelling as well as at home.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love my Acers., September 9, 2009
This review is from: Acer Aspire One AO751h-1259 11.6-Inch Red Netbook - 3+ Hour Battery Life (Personal Computers)

On my other Acer I had to scroll to see the entire screen. You'd think the small size would matter, but it doesn't. The clarity of the screen makes up for the size.

Very lightweight. Part of that is probably due to the 3 cell battery versus the 6 and 9 cell ones I use in my other netbook. I don't need a lot of battery life on this one because it's not leaving the house. If I was going to take it with me I would have upgraded to the 6 cell battery. The battery doesn't seem to charge completely (only up to 94 or 96 percent) and the battery appears to die before the 3 hours but that could be due to the type of usage.

Great color of red. Even found a logitech mouse that goes well with it.

After cleaning up the start menu, removing McAfee, etc, it flies. I have absolutely no complaints about the speed or the fact that the computer runs on Vista. I'm sure the 2GB of RAM help there. There are other options for antivirus out there, like Comodo, that aren't such memory hogs. Also make sure you either get it with Vista Service Pack 2 or upgrade to that.

One thing I need to get used to is the keyboard. The keys are all flat unlike the original Acer netbooks that have keys more similar to a regular keyboard. Sometimes it's hard to know if you're on the right key. It's something minor that I'm sure I'll get used to with time.

Some people might miss having a CD/DVD drive, but you can either transfer things over your home network, download from online, use a USB stick, or you can get an external drive for not that much money.

My husband, who has absolutely no need for a netbook, has been tempted to get one just because they're so cool. He's a techie and was very impressed with the capabilities of the netbook. He had very low expectations to begin with until he got the first one out of the box and started to play with it. When it came time to get this one, he was 100% behind me getting another Acer.

If you need something portable, or just don't want a big system taking up space like me, I would totally recommend this model. I gave up using my desktop HP altogether after getting a netbook.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy, November 8, 2009

I did a great deal of research before I chose to buy this small computer. This was the only make that has the 2MB and a 250 Hard drive. Most of the others have only the 1MB and 80 to 160 Hard drives. I really wanted a laptop with the size of a netbook. I really love it. The keyboard is easy to use. The only thing I did want was the 6 cell battery. They last like 7 hours. This 3 cell only lasts two hours. But, being the smaller cell battery, the unit is very light. I own a 17" Laptop and this small one is as if I shrunk the bigger one. I would recommend you to buy this, for the price alone is a good reason to buy it, too.

This is a good netbook but Windows Vista performs horribly. I have another Aspire One with 1G memory and Windows XP and the OS and graphics are far superior. I would recommend this netbook but not with Windows Vista.

I bought this as a gift to replace a full-size laptop that had died. So far, the recipient likes it. Only complaint is that it seems a bit slower, especially on the web, and that it came loaded with Vista. We'll probably upgrade it to 7 soon, though. Overall, very happy with the purchase!

Excellent little notebook, very sharp screen. Run 24/7 for first few weeks as first one I bought died on third day-J and R took back for full credit. Extra batteries $60 on internet, and if you need a CD capability, buy software "virtual CD". Also great keyboard and touch screen. So small and light, easy to take along especially with built in wifi.
