I had a previous ACER model that I love and was very reliable but it has a smaller screen so I decided to purchase a new one. The ACER I received looks great but as far as performance goes, not very good. After a month of use, my screen froze up a few times and had to do the power button shutdown method. My keyboard is also loose. Not very happy with the purchase.

I received the netbook not long ago and my first impressions were good. Looks nice, no dead pixels comes with Windows 7 Starter. I boot into WIN7 just fine, removed some bloatware (yep, 25 mins of bloat removed). The first thing I noticed was that the screen is very bright(hooray for LED). I am not a fan for heavy Operating Systems so I tried immediately to load a linux distro (Joli OS) which is supposed to be very lightweight and super fast. First off I had to go through 5 flash drives before I could one to read, maybe the drivers don't work for it but I don't know. I eventually installed in alongside WIN7 only to find that JoliOS doesn't have working WIFI drivers for this model. Of course on the forums they claim to but nothing works when I get in. Then I install Ubuntu hoping for more compatibility, it runs extremely slow, which is unlike any linux distro. I am unsure as to why nothing but WIN7 wants to work on this netbook and occasionally things act rather slow like when opening more than 1 tab in any browser(even Chrome). I will run a Memtestx86 tonight hoping to find a RAM issue, but I wonder about the parts quality in things like this. Cannot say I didn't expect it for how little it cost after all.

Shipped with what looked like a small smudge on the screen. Turned out not to be just a superficial smudge, but an LCD crack, which went unrealized until several black dots and a spiderweb appeared internally on the screen. Sent back, purchased an Asus netbook instead and am loving it.
