I like the screen - size, brightness, touch-function.

The keyboard leaves to be desired, tough. I had to add a drop of fingernail polish to the "f" and "j" keys to be able to find them without looking/touch type because the little bump that is on them is at the very bottom of the keys and very small and not functional.

Also, the images for "screen lighter" and "screen darker" seem backwards to me, so I end up doing the wrong one. Also, if I am pressing a little too much on the hand-rest area below the keyboard, it causes malfunctions. And finally, the touchpad does not work all that well. Too sensitive, I think, and then anything that brushes near it or over it makes the cursor jump. And yes, I ajusted the sensitivity setting in the control panel.

Computing - it locks up pin the mail app and forces it to quit - frequently - and just generally seems to get overwhelmed when asked to do more than the simplest functions. Slows down, forces wait or quit option, etc.

Love the screen, though, and also the design of the case - actually very pretty, but subtle. I just wish the computer itself functioned a little better.

Overall, though, for the price - I'd have to say I got an ok machine for what I paid.

It's a decent laptop for the price, not the best. It dosen't come with a disk-drive, which i didn't know (but thats my fault, i should have read more into it)

The Keys are a little frail, and its kinda small for my fingers but overall its just a decent computer.

I bought this computer last December at Best Buy. I know it is a touch screen, with no disk drive, no openly available slot to upgrade memory. I didn't realize that their was no disk drive when I purchased it. That is it's biggest fall back. Some games require a disk in the drive... And Acer is hawking online storage. Yes it's that kind a thing. Also if I knew I couldn't max out the memory at 8GB, I would have passed. But I was all about a touch screen on a laptop. Go figure, a year later I was like "Been there, done that".

A laptop that cannot be a tablet, but with tablet features? A year later all I can say is if you need a laptop, buy one. But don't buy a touchscreen expecting it will be functional. the keyboard is in the way most of the time and it feels awkward trying to use the touchscreen period.

Then there is that big problem called WIN8, Yes Windows 8 was not designed to be a desktop, it was designed to be a tablet to fight Google for the #2 slot in tablet software. It failed horribly. 8.1 brings the desktop interface back to the front with a little bit of tweaking. Booting straight to desktop, and bringing the start menu back, although I downloaded and installed Pokki start menu so it doesn't switch between Metro and desktop. This makes windows feel normal again. It also out-performs Windows 7, which I ran for 8 months on this computer. Other problem you will find is Automatic Update is probably not working. You need to run the diagnostic utility to fix it, then download the 129 updates, just to get your 8.1 update to fix your tablet to PC UI.

For the price and the size, that's the right one. Everything should be perfect, I want it runs at 16 gigs ram, but the memory upgrade is limited, there is 1 ram socket, so I can make it to 8 gigs.
