I purchased the Red Ferrari Laptop and had nothing but problems form the start. I was supposed to get a free matching mouse, when I received the mouse it looked two years old. When I got laptop working the wrist rest pad right next to the mouse pad was heating up to an uncomfortable level. When I notified PCmode, the supplier of the laptop, they agreed to replace it with another laptop. When I asked if it had the same problems, they told me it headed up as all laptops heat up. The agreed to replace the laptop with another laptop but with a 50% lesser value than the one I purchased.

I will never buy from these people again...

This is a great laptop. I bought this laptop four years ago and it is still running great. The hard drive crashed about 2 years ago. Fortunately I had purchased the 3yr warranty plan. They sent me a shipping label, a truck came and picked it up, and was delivered back with a new hard drive in about 2-3 weeks. They offered to just send the hard drive, but I opted for a good cleaning inside and out as well. I since upgraded to 2GB RAM and put a 60GB 7200RPM hard drive in it. I then installed Windows Vista Ultimate (64bit) and ran for close to 2 years without a hiccup. It still runs just as well as the low-end models selling today.

I purchased this laptop almost 4 years ago for my consulting business. Since then I've used several other laptops from clients and have yet to find one I like as much. Most others were slow even when years newer, buggy from the manufacturer, and lacking features. This Acer has more features than any other laptop I've used, awesome performance for the time, and is still running strong. The only drawbacks were power consumption and heat.

Fortunately, the computer worked and worked well from the start for me. The performance is phenomenal, the craftsmanship and style are only slightly short of amazing. (sturdy and stylish, but heavy and heats up quickly.) I hope I never have to deal with customer service but the product performs. The worse thing is that if you have it set to use full power all of the time you get maybe an hour and a half of battery time. Still like my PowerBook better though.

this acer ferrari beside the nice design it does not deserve any penny,i will never buy such item like acer ferrari ever,acer are one of the most low quality computers,i got one 1 year ago and crashed when i was recover the system operating,it is down and acer are not able to help me,they ask for more than a half of the computer value to replace the motherboard when the problem was with the bios flash......

Just walk away. I don't think Acer brand is ready for the USA. Someday, your going to need support, and Acer's technical support department is the next to worthless. So, my opinion is to shop elsewhere.
