On it now, works perfect. didnt need HDMI inputs so no use. you get the same picture using DVI if you dont need the sound transfer.

I had no issue with assembly and the picture quality seems good to me.

I bought this monitor yesterday (not from Amazon and only because I needed it same day)and once I got the base on it I was very impressed at the beauty of the display. I noticed that several people had trouble with the base snapping onto the monitor properly - so did I. After about an hour of working I figured it out. First mount the "neck" to the base and tighten the thumb screw that holds the two together. On the end that attaches to the monitor there is a metal assembly with 2 tabs that have a slot between them.Insert a flat blade screwdriver into the slot and pry away from the plastic back side. It will only move a little and it hits the stops. This is the screen tilt mechanism. Now sit the base on a flat stable surface and line the back of the monitor up properly, push down and it should click into place. The base should NOT come off when you pick up the monitor.
So far, it appears to be an excellent monitor for the money. I give it 4 stars for the very vague assembly instructions and I find the power and setting keys to be in an awkward location. Other than that, it is great.

This Acer 6206HL Bbd 20-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor was wayyyy better than I thought it was going to be for the price that I paid for it. The only downfall is how the LCD Monitor sits into the base. It appears to be defective to a certain degree, and seems as if it doesn't want to fit all the way in snug to where it snaps in. But if you push the monitor down hard enough it sits in just right to where you don't have to have it snap right. One thing to note: Don't try to put the base and the monitor holder in backwards. It's almost impossible to remove if you do so.

If you're thinking about buying a great budget monitor then this is the one for you! MUST HAVE!

The size is nice, the picture is nice, but we absolutely could not get it to seat into the stand properly. Rather than return it (we live very rurally and getting anywhere to send it back would be a pita) I'm just dealing with having it precariously balanced on the stand instead of actually seated completely in.

One good thing is that this monitor actually comes with a VGA to DVI adapter so if you should need one, one is already provided.

I received this product roughly 2 weeks ago I ordered a TCL 32inch LED back lit TV at the same time (love it). The product has a DVI and VGA input only (no HDMI). The image display is extremely lacking when compared to other standard LCD monitor or the LED back lit TV. The unit arrived with a stuck red pixel so I will be returning. Because the image quality is so poor I will not be requesting a replacement I will spend the extra $ and get something better. The display reminds me of the old LCD monitors from the early 2000's and that is with LED technology! Hate to see what ACER's earlier LCD monitors looked like.

I ordered this monitor to use as a tv and not for use as a computer monitor.I am sure it would make a fine monitor for a computer also. I have it hooked up to an older model Roku player and placed the monitor in front of my exercise bike to watch movies or tune in Pandora, Live 365, ect. It does a fantastic job. When I ordered it they said that it was not prime shipping and would take 6 to 10 days to deliver. However it was on my doorstep the following afternoon. When I opened the package I was not expecting much because it was advertised as a refurbished model and very reasonably priced. However it looked to be new and was packaged as good or better than a lot of new items I have gotten in the past. Now for some of the complaints seen in some of the reviews here is what I found. Some say that the base won't snap onto the monitor. Of course not, it is not designed that way. Just lay the monitor on it's back and slip the base on. Reach into the indent in the base and locate the thumb screw. It has a swivel tab on the end. Swing that out and turn the screw clockwise to engage the screw into the threads in the monitor till it won't turn anymore and the base will not come off till this process is reversed. Couldn't be more simple than that. Next complaint, no HDMI input. Well there is sort of. You can purchase a cord from Amazon that has a HDMI plug on one end and a DVI end on the other. You need a cord anyway and this is no more expensive than a standard HDMI cord. Plug the HDMI plug into the source such as a streaming player or blue ray player and attach the other end into the DVI input on the monitor and you have a high def tv. Of course you need sound so plug the source's audio output into an amplifier or powered speakers and you're all set.Read more ›

Received the Monitor today (ordered on Friday received it on Wednesday), setup even with the stand was quick and easy. Images on the monitor are crisp and clear no fine tuning required (although I will later).

I Would recommend this product and seller to anyone.

The Acer G206HL Bbd has one *potential* major drawback, but a terrific price-point.

Positives:
-Capable of displaying very bright images with very vivid colors; very wide gamut.
-Very wide horizontal viewing angle; can be seen from just about anywhere on either side
-Really slim and lightweight
-Feels well-constructed
-Affordable!

Negatives:
-Terrible *vertical* viewing angle. The monitor needs to be at eye-level; positioning the monitor higher or lower than normal (such as with vertical-orientation dual monitor setups) is not viable. Looking up and down within the confines of the screen at eye-level, you will see a small amount of darkening towards the top and bottom, but it is pretty acceptable. Viewing angle is a common problem with LCD screens, but it usually occurs on the horizontal axis. This one *could* be bothersome if consistent color and luminosity at the extreme top and bottom of the screen are particularly important to you.

-Fixed-height monitor stand. Could be a problem for some, given the limited vertical angle mentioned above. Most monitors do this now, though.

-Menus for settings are weirdly non-intuitive. Hard to explain exactly, but you won't need to fiddle with them often enough for it to be a serious consideration.

-Default color setup is ludicrously bright and saturated. This is true, however, of a majority of LCD monitors, so it is not a negative point specific to just this product. Thankfully, this monitor has all of the controls needed to calibrate with a Huey or Spyder Pro (or to manually adjust per-color), which is actually a plus compared to other similarly-priced monitors.
