Good Deal!,

For the money I think it is quite the deal. If the screen is totally black there is a little light leak at the top and bottom, but it's not noticeable once any type of picture is being displayed. It also does a fair job displaying at other resolutions when you switch from the native 1920x1080. The sound comes from only one speaker, but it is adequate for most of the stuff you do on a computer (dinks, donks, buzzes and simple dialog). If you want to listen to music I would recommend going with external speakers. The only other rub is although you can tilt the screen it doesn't go up and down, but hey...It only cost me $179 for a 1920X1080 monitor. Keep in mind that it also has HDMI and came with the feaking HDMI cable....NICE! Why these cables cost $30 in Wal-mart for the cheep ones is beyond me?????? All in all a definite 2 thumbs up!

Not too bad, but still flawed,

I'm on my second H213h. The first one's right menu "button" would not function right out of the box. Needless to say, I'm not entirely thrilled with this buttonless system, even when it's working as it should. But that aside...
The monitor is very nice. Colors are very brilliant and bright. I have not found what the static contrast ratio is, but I'm guessing around 1000:1. Dynamic ratios are like digital zoom to me; a selling point to the ignorant. Other nice features are the resolution, 1920x1080. Full HD videos display perfectly on the screen without black bars or any of that nonsense. Also being it's native resolution, it looks sharper than say my LCD TV displaying 720p on it's 1440x900 LCD. VGA/DVI/HDMI inputs are all on the back, and it comes with a cable for each (yes, HDMI cable...very nice!). Now for the bad... The speakers are horrible. While I wasn't expecting too much, I suppose I'm also spoiled by the decent speakers in my Toshiba LCD TV. And while I normally wouldn't complain, it's rather difficult to enjoy an HDMI device (say an Xbox 360) when you're limited to these muffled speakers. But as backups for a computer's beeps and all, they work fine. I'd also like to bring up the interface once again. While the "buttons" aren't horrible, they are much more difficult to use than traditional buttons. Sometimes it takes multiple times to get the buttons to function. At least the power button is a true click button and not this other nonsense. --update-- OK, so I'm on my third monitor now and beginning to question my purchase. First two had/developed button issues. My third one seems to work, but it's very quirky. Sometimes the menu buttons won't illuminate(or function), sometimes it won't go to standby when the PC does. If I could return it, I probably would. If I could purchase again, I probably wouldn't... --last update-- Earlier today while using my desktop, I noticed none of the lights for the OSD lit up. Now since I've shut my PC down, they all remain lit and the power light is blue rather than yellow (even though it is in standby). A few days ago I shut my computer down and the monitor got stuck in a loop searching for video feeds on HDMI-VGA-DVI-HDMI...yeah. Visually it looks fine, but keep away from these "buttonless" panels!

I was looking for a very specific monitor for my husband. It had to have more or equal to 19K dynamic contrast ratio, over 20 in. display, more or equal to 1K static contrast ratio, 1080 resolution, vga, dvi, hdmi ports. There were no dead pixels and it came exactly when I wanted thanks to tigerdirect. It looks great with hi def media, but our expectations are not as high as someone who critiques these for a living. Very satisfied.
