2.0 out of 5 stars Died after 10 months
Great TV when it works. Mine died on me after 10 months, well within the warranty period, but Envision expects me to pay for packaging and shipping to Texas, which will run me around $200 !!!! They only have 3 service centers in the States.

5.0 out of 5 stars You Do Not Have To Deplete Your Savings When You Buy Widescreens, November 11, 2008

I bought this AOC LCDTV 32" today to replace an unworkable model distributed by a notable competitor. First out of the gate, I saved almost $200.00 and after setup, I realized that the picture quality and features were actually superior to the counterpart. I do not want to imply that the AOC brand, which is continuing to make major inroads into the American market is small time. AOC is doing very well in Europe and Radio Shack is experiencing significant success with its AOC inventory. Interestingly enough, having previously purchased an Akai 32", I have noticed that Radio Shack corporate buyers seem to be adept at securing products that are not widely marketed by other retailers but may be superior in quality and very much lower in pricing. The bottom line is this, when you shop for an LCD television, remember that the product name should not be your sole consideration, analyze the entire scenario-you may end up saving a fair amount of money for a better functioning product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great TV for the price..., December 1, 2008

For that price($380) you can't go wrong with this. It was easy to setup(pretty much plug and play) but you need to attach the base to the TV with 6 screw. Picture looks good on Standard channels and great on HD (amazed that DirecTV has universal remote code for this TV). With contrast ratio of 1,500:1; it is better than most comparable brands. This works great being PC monitor too. I have this TV in my loft area and it fits really well.

Cons: No PIP, one HDMI port and speakers are a little weak.

Watch a football game on HD; it BLOWS. If you are looking for a budget and decent TV, the L32W761 fits you.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT BUY!, December 27, 2008

This is a great first HD TV! Awesome picture quality, and easy to use. I looked around at other TVs outside my budget, and smaller like 26". I came across this, and couldn't be happier! To me, it's better that some of the name brand TVs, and you can not find a better price on a 32" flat screen. The only issue I have is, that it only has one HDMI input, which is not an issue for me yet, because I don't have anything to hook up to it. There are probably adapters on the market to allow to you to hook additional HDMI inputs if needed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Display; NO EPG!, January 25, 2009

Wonderful picture quality and no problems with the unit since purchase (11/15/08). So lifelike that it almost appears 3-D. This is my first LCD digital TV purchase and I have it hooked up to an over the air digital TV signal. Stunning clarity. You do need to tweak the display controls somewhat to get the best picture quality; the default settings will not give you the best display. I have not played a DVD or any other source with this set but I would expect the quality to be very high also. At the time of my purchase (11/15/08 for $450) this was the lowest priced 32" LCD that I could find. The major drawback is the lack of an EPG (electronic program guide). If you are only going to use this set for gaming, watching movies or have cable or satellite; then the lack of an EPG will not be a major consideration. Without an EPG, you are not able to preview the upcoming programming for digital TV stations. With some digital converter boxes, you are able to view programming hours in advance. Also, the digital tuner in the set does not pull in stations as well as digital converter boxes that I do have. Using the same source in approximately the same location, the signal for this unit is not as good; although more than adequate for good reception. I would have given this unit 5 stars if there was an EPG included and the reception was better. All in all, a great 32" LCD TV at a great price in spite of it's limitations.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good TV, I've had no problems., February 15, 2011
This review is from: Acer L32W761 32-Inch LCD TV 16:9 HDMI Tuners (Electronics)
Ive had the 32" AOC LCD TV for about 2 or 3 years now. I've had absolutely no problems with it. The picture is pretty nice, works well with gaming, and also its good with standard movies. I dont have blu ray, or HDTV for direct tv but the picture quality is pretty good. If i get rid of this tv it'll just be to get a bigger tv. I do recommend this TV. Only downside to it is there arent enough HDMI ports. Only comes with one. It also only comes with one of the normal Yellow,Red,White ports (sorry i dont know the term for the hook up). If it came with two of each, itd be awesome.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good TV For the Price, October 19, 2010
By
This review is from: Acer L32W761 32-Inch LCD TV 16:9 HDMI Tuners (Electronics)
I bought this a couple years ago for $500 for my bedroom, and it's great for what it is: A cheap, large LCD TV. Now, you can find it for ~$300. Its variety of inputs are good as well. More HDMI inputs would be nice, but the fact that it has VGA, component, S-Video, and composite is nice. The fact that I can hook up an HDMI source to the TV and have it output Dolby Digital or DTS to a HT Receiver via Toslink/Coaxial is very handy. The color and contrast are pretty good, but its 8ms response time will hold back video games and action movies from truly looking amazing. The only thing where the TV has any serious issues is the TV Tuner. HD channels come in nicely, but SD channels look pretty rough. Things that are in motion are blurry and it is very, very noticeable.

The T.V. definitely isn't the nicest HDTV on the market, but if you want an inexpensive HDTV for a bedroom or something, this will fit the budget quite well. However, if you have a little more money to spend, go for a better TV, like one with a faster response rate or one that has a 120hz refresh rate.

Pros:
-INEXPENSIVE
-Decent color
-Variety of inputs
-Good compatibility with Home Theater receivers

Cons:
-SD looks rough
-8ms isn't fast enough for all uses
-Could use more HDMI inputs

1.0 out of 5 stars L32W761 IS CHEAP IN PRICE & CHEAPER QUALITY, October 8, 2010
This review is from: Acer L32W761 32-Inch LCD TV 16:9 HDMI Tuners (Electronics)
AOC L32W761 - For a cheap 32" LCD this is *NOT* a good choice. I got it from Newegg at a little over $300.

Picture is passable but has problems with motion artifacts. Sometimes faces noticeably distort with motion and low contrast and look like a chaep horror film effect.

Within 6 months the numbers have worn off of the remote. A minor annoyance. The remote is more annoying in that the mute button is in the upper right hand corner - not in the middle of the channel and volume buttons like 90%+ of other TV's.

Now at about 18 months, the low band VHF tuner has died - that is to say channels 2-7 no longer work. Of course it is past it's 1 year warranty.

Buy a Mistubishi or Samsung - it may cost a bit more, but then again it will be more likely to satisfy you over time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great set, July 1, 2009
I bought this set as a second unit which is connected to cable but doesn't have an HD box. After I connected it up I thought the cable company had made a mistake...The picture is the close equivalent of the main set which does have an HD box attached. A great set!

5.0 out of 5 stars this tv is great for the price, June 9, 2009
i bought this tv for my house because the old tube tv wasnt working, i have a 26inch olevia lcd in my bedroom and this 32inch aoc is almost as good, even though its cheaper. blu rays, hd channels, and ps3 are awesome, regular channels are decent. there is a newer version out with a better conrast ratio, but this tv is still awesome. i saw it at radioshack and bought it right away just from looking at the picture and especially the price. only con probably is sound, doesnt get very loud even at highest volume. picture is awesome and can be adjusted how u prefer.
