Purchased this tablet/ keyboard combo about a month ago. So far, it really has been a great little machine. It certainly has it's quirks, but overall really great, especially for the price. Before purchasing I had pitted this computer out against the Asus alternative - the T100. Both the laptops have strong and weak points. In my opinion, the Acer stands just above the Asus.

First off with the pros:
This thing is really just plain cool. The way you can have a normal laptop and then a tablet is awesome. The Asus T100 has a button that releases a latch that holds the keyboard in place as opposed to the Acer's strong magnets that hold the two together. I really prefer the magnets because it allows extremely easy separation (just pull), but will not come apart unless you really want it to.
The Intel Atom delivers decent performance. This computer has no trouble streaming HD videos and can even handle some light gaming. I usually just play Age of Empires II on it and it can handle that with ease. It also has fairly decent battery life (around 6-8 hours depending on what you are doing, with full brightness)
Comes with Office 2013 preloaded - great for me (college student)
Screen resolution is standard (1366x768) but with just 10.1 inches of screen size, the pixel density on this is really awesome. A full HD screen would be cool, but also might be harder for the little Atom to deal with.
Chicklet keyboard is alright. The Asus T100's keyboard is more cramped and harder for my big hands to type on than this one though.
Touchscreen is great and smudges aren't as bad as I expected them to be. Screen gets plenty bright and does pretty well in direct sunlight.
MicroSD card reader that supports SDXC, so you can stick a 512gb card in there (or larger!

I've had my Acer Aspire Switch 10 for about a week now, and I'm quite happy with it. I was shopping for a replacement for my trusty old Windows 7 notebook. After a week of using a Windows 8.1 touchscreen, I don't know why I waited so long to upgrade, (I did take a Windows 8.1 tutorial!)

Like others, I compared the Acer Switch 10 to the Asus Transformer T100 both online and in a store.
Both units come with MS Office Home & Student edition pre-installed, a very nice bonus when compared to Chromebooks since MS Office is the de facto standard office software we all tend to use.

(BTW, I did not compare these units to folding units like the Lenovo Yoga with their keyboards that do not detach as they seem really bulky to me as a tablet.)

I liked the Asus quite a bit, but a few features swayed me over to the Acer (like some expert reviewers):

1. Build quality: the brushed aluminum top gives the Acer a solid metallic feel. The Asus glossy plastic seems to be a little weaker and a fingerprint-magnet.
2. Both the Acer and Asus use tough Corning Guerilla glass screens, but the Acer just seemed brighter to me. (Acer uses a zero-air-gap screen, maybe that's the difference.)
3. The Acer Switch 10 has a separate power supply port and charger, freeing up the USB port in the keyboard when one is charging the unit. (A dedicated power supply also charges faster than a USB port).
4. The magnetic hinge is a great design. When the unit is docked, you can pick up the entire unit by just the screen and the keyboard is going nowhere, but it separates and docks with ease.
5. The touchpad is larger on the Acer, and has a good feel.
6. The Acer has two front-facing speakers on the tablet, so you can actually hear them.

I purchased this device hoping for it to serve as my mobile laptop that i could use instead of carrying my heavy regular laptop around. I am about to start school and needed something that would be light and easy for me to carry around. This laptop suited my need perfectly and i was very pleased with it when it arrived. After two days of using it however i noticed that the windows button would get stuck by itself. This would cause a continuous switching between the start screen and the desktop and make it impossible for me to get anything done. After the button stopped being stuck it just wouldn't work at all and because of this the volume buttons would instead function as the buttons that turn on the narrator. It was incredibly annoying. Initially i thought it was just a fluke and i liked this device so much i figured i could live with it, but by the second day i realized that this was actually a big defect and that it was impossible for me to get any work done. I also read other reviews (unfortunately after i purchased the device) which people mentioned this defect. I am really disappointed to be returning this device as it suited my needs and i really liked it but unfortunately i cant deal with the defect and would advise others to purchase it with caution, or wait until acer has addressed the issue.

Before I write anything else, as soon as you get this computer, go to acer.com and get all the updates, especially firmware and BIOS updates. By doing this you won't have the problems other reviewers mention, such as the Microsoft button getting stuck, or the touchpad getting disabled.

I have been heavy using this small laptop, even with software development programs as Eclipse and Visual Studio 2013. It can handle programs pretty well, but don't expect the performance of an Intel i5 or i7 processor. I tried to play Torchlight II with it, but it cannot handle it. However, I can play any Windows Store games without issues.

- Sound is good
- screen looks great
- wifi is strong (both 2.4 and 5 GHz)
- keyboard is confortable
- touchscreen is responsive (up to 5 points/fingers)
- I have it with a 128GB MicroSD without issues
- the touchpad works fine, but I would like to have options in the software to deactivate some touchpad gestures
- Ports are pretty useful, although I had to buy a micro HDMI and a micro USB adapters (there is a full size usb 2 in the keyboard)

Cons
- Webcam is not good, it does not work well with Skype for desktop. Probably only caused by software.
- Battery only lasts 4-5 hours under heavy use. Otherwise, almost 7 hours.
