Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Acer V223W BMD 22" Widescreen TFT LCD Monitor (Electronics)
I needed to replace two monitors when our office flooded above my desk. I loved my monitors and dreaded getting new ones. I did alot of research and ordered the Acer V223W and I love them. Great resolution and set-up was no problem.

Great Monitor for the $$$,
This review is from: Acer V223W BMD 22" Widescreen TFT LCD Monitor (Electronics)
I just got the monitor in the mail and it's fantastic. Huge upgrade from my 15" Dell flatscreen. I highly recommend this to someone who is looking to upgrade to a 22" for a low price. Fantastic value

When reviewing electronics I am always tempted to list the 'goods' and the 'bads' but, in this case, except for the price, which is 'good' and the warranty provisions, which are ridiculous (read below), just about everything else is... bland and unimpressive. Not too bad but not exceptional either. So, let me list what's worth knowing about it and I will have a few closing thoughts after that.
- 1680-1050 display - VGA and DVI inputs (no HDMI), cables included - displayed colors appear to be a best effort approximation (they don't look very good and they can't be adjusted except for selecting one of the few 'presets') - cheap-looking, black plastic body and stand - plugs directly into the power outlet (no external power supply) - color management is basic and the button interface used for setup is unintuitive - disk includes 2-page setup manual and a registration form, no drivers - same 2-page manual is included on paper, in many languages - 3-year warranty 'excludes plastic parts' (I swear, it's a quote). This is almost funny given that the body of the monitor is all-plastic - warranty service does not cover shipping/insurance costs - make sure you save your original invoice and the original packaging or you may experience problems if you ever need warranty repairs - stand tilts but it can't be raised/lowered - energy-star compliant - not suited for displaying pictures or playing movies (home use) because of lack of any color calibration capabilities - the design strongly hints at a bare-bones-cheap monitor, which it is Two months after purchasing this monitor for office use I consider my decision 'a mistake'. At the time, Amazon had it on a 'special' and the price was a major concern - it came out of my company's budget. Ever since, I found much better alternatives and, in fact I did purchase an amazing HP W2207H 22-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor for only a few dollars more. I wish I could grant this monitor more than 2 stars but, given the far superior alternatives available, it would be misleading to do so.
