Lots of people report problems with the image from a computer, even in 1080p, not filling the entire screen. You cannot fix this on the monitor settings. You need to go to your graphics card control center and adjust your overscan/underscan setting (Google it).
The picture quality is OK. It's VERY bright, even at its lowest setting, and the colors are very blue-heavy. It's so bright that some light-gray objects may appear white on-screen.
There are a few other things I don't like about this monitor. For one, it shows the ACER logo followed by the Energy star symbol for a good six seconds every time you turn it on. I turn my monitor off a lot when not using my PC (cause it takes a long time to go to powersave). Waiting for this when powering up the computer can be a drag too, as you might miss the BIOS screen of your computer while waiting for the splash to finish.
The other annoying thing is that it automatically switches inputs whenever one goes offline. Not a big problem, but for some reason the monitor always auto-switched to my 360 (which was off) when my PC went to sleep. It would then stay on and show a black screen.
Still, it's a nice monitor, and 2 HDMI inputs is nice. I wish it had DVI. I'd recommend it if you can find one on sale.
UPDATE: At the three-year mark there is a noticeable flicker on the screen probably caused by the backlight going out.
Acer technical support is not good and I will have to be without a monitor for 7-10 business days if I send it in for repair (cost of shipping to be paid by me).
Overall a bad experience with this product.
I have also used an Acer netbook for several years and have been impressed with the Acer brand.

This monitor just has terrible colors. I recently acquired a few Dell Ultrasharp IPS monitors and have them next to the Acer, and WOW! It makes the Acer look SO BAD. Read morePublished 17 months ago by Will Shoemaker
I love it. I do portraits and landscapes. Skin color in the former and foliage and contrasts in the latter are very realistic.Published 21 months ago by Edward A. Beckles
