I have deployed over ten of these monitors and they all work fine. Basic monitor without any bells and whistles. Screen is bright and colors pop.

The reviewer that posted about the blurry pic is having a technical issue not related to the product. You have to set your computer's resolution to the "native" resolution of your monitor which for this montior is 1366x768. Most people think you can just unplug an old monitor and connect a new one but that is not correct. In their review they stated they had a CRT monitor which is not widescreen and therefore their resolution is probably 1024x768 which is probably causing their issue.

Buy with confidence as these monitors have a three year warranty. I have purchased Acer monitors that required warranty service (they were almost three years old and were on non-stop). The warranty process is pretty straight forward. Go to Acer's warranty site, fill out your information, ship the monitor to a repair center (Texas in my case) and receive the monitor back repaired in about a week.

Before I get into the review, let me just say: I'm no tech whiz, but I'm not exactly what you'd call computer illiterate.

This monitor came with a pretty much useless "instruction manual" that doesn't give you a step-by-step guide to setting this thing up (their step-by-step makes no mention of the CD, or when/if computer should be turned on, etc.) But fear not, it's really not hard to figure out. It simply comes with the VGA cable and the power cord. Connect the cords accordingly. (A 10 year old could figure it out. "Square peg goes into the....? That's right, Johnny.")

It comes with a CD, but I didn't even have to use it. I connected this thing literally 5 minutes ago, took me about two minutes to plug it all up and get it working (yeah, I guess my excitement might have played a part in it.) And now I'm enjoying this widescreen monitor. Very crisp picture. I even took a quick video of it so you can all check it out and see if it's what you're looking for.

Note: I am connecting this to my tiny Acer Aspire One netbook... got sick and tired of the itty bitty screen (serious eye strain). Especially while doing graphic artwork on it.

Packaging note: This item was double boxed. The outside box simply was labeled Amazon (so no one would know what's inside).. and then the inside box was the ACER box. Good hassle-free packaging.

My old LCD monitor blanked out on me. After trying to do digital scrapbooking on an old monitor that I still had I had to get a replacement. Since I recently upgraded to Windows 7 I read that the widescreen monitors work well with this system. I'm very pleased. There were no adjustments to be done. Just let it run on it's native settings. I'm thinking about purchasing one for my mother.

I have had my Acer X183H 18.5" monitor for over a month. I am totally satisfied. I think the reviewer with the blurry screen just received a defective unit. The unit should be replaced or refunded. I believe that this is a good product for the price.Time will tell.

I bought this screen for my recording studio.The only problem is the video card you need at least 64MB otherwise you might have problems with the monitor but otherwise so far the screen is good and I m thinking buying a second one.

I have had this monitor for over a year now. I use it primarily for gaming and emulation.

I have never seen a "blur" problem - the response time on this monitor is amazingly good. The colors are bright and sharp. It has display presets for text, standard, graphics and movies and also can be set manually to your tastes. I've never used any of these as it also has this really nice AUTO switch that sets itself based on what it "sees". This has always been good for me.

You could spend twice as much and not get a monitor this good. I have a 22" monitor on my primary computer that I spent $400 on and aside from the size I don't see a quality of picture difference!

For a 19" monitor this is a great buy that works very well. You don't get what you pay for here... you get better.

This LCD display was easy to set up, with a very good picture (although not quite as good as my old CRT monitor); but for only $109 it's a great value.

Does anyone else find the on/off button awkward? I am getting used to it but still sometimes it takes awhile to get it to function.

Otherwise I am very pleased with the monitor.

bought 10 of these over the last year, none have failed or had any issues. All have a nice picture, work with multiple types of PCs and OS's, using DVI & analog. Will continue to buy more of these whenever needed.
