Bought one of these emachines last week and I like it. Make sure you delete the pre-installed Norton anti-virus as soon as you get this. It bogged the system down SO much. Especially at start-up and shut down. Its a decent weight, keyboard is pretty easy to type on. The screen is clear and bright, sound is decent. Great value for what you pay for it. One suggestion: get a cooling mat.

Ok, first of all everyone who's complained about this laptop obviously hasn't realized that Windows Vista cripples ANYTHING that it's installed on. That and the bloatware that the eMachines come installed with. Like Norton Anti-Virus.The D620 is a powerful little laptop and can preform very good if given the chance. If you buy one, or own one, get rid of Windows Vista and install Windows 7. Once you have, you'll notice the D620 run at least three times as good as it did with Vista. Install free alternatives to Norton, my favorite which runs well is Avast! Free. Finally, upgrade the ram from 1GB to 3GB. This is cheap to do and it's simple. Just unscrew a few screws from the bottom of the laptop and click the ram into place. One thing that sets this budget laptop from the rest, and even from more expensive laptops is that it has a dedicated graphics card from ATI with dedicated memory at 256mb. I've gamed Counter Strike Source, Half Life 2, Garry's Mod (on full without anti-aliasing) and it runs GREAT. Even some newer games run good as long as you turn down the graphics. I use my eMachines D620 to do basic logo designs in Photoshop. Runs like a champ. I couldn't disagree more with the reviews on this site. The eMachines D620, although now three years old does a great job. It's seriously an underrated laptop which deserves more praise. I'd also like to mention that my laptop is on constantly. I mean 24/7, up to a month without a restart. So it's put under some heavy use and I still haven't had any failures or blue screens. I might just be lucky, but eMachines have earned a little respect from me with the D620.

This is a laptop for children to learn the basics on. Does everythong it should, but is very slow, not for anyone who wants to get work done. Excellent for the beginner user !!!
