4.0 out of 5 stars IMPROVED VOCABULARY
Helped me to prepare for the exam. I tried taking sample tests in some review books, but ended up turning to the cards first for review, then those sample tests were easier to tackle. The vocabulary section was really helpful. Some of the words I learned came up on the exam, and as a separate bonus my reading comprehension and working vocabulary in general have improved...

2.0 out of 5 stars Sort the cards before you waste valuable time!
These cards include items not covered on the GMAT. My advice is to sort through the cards and throw away the ones that don't apply. It seems like they just took the SAT cards and put them in a new box. While some concepts apply in both cases, others (such as vocabulary) are not the focus of the GMAT. Don't use this as your only guide to studying for the GMAT.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not specific to the GMAT at all, July 17, 2007

These are just general review cards -- they don't really prepare you for taking the GMAT. They are interesting for keeping up on general pre-calc math and vocab though.

I prefer the Princeton Review products, though they don't have flashcards. Cracking the GMAT with DVD, 2008 Edition (Graduate Test Prep)

Helped me to prepare for the exam. I tried taking sample tests in some review books, but ended up turning to the cards first for review, then those sample tests were easier to tackle. The vocabulary section was really helpful. Some of the words I learned came up on the exam, and as a separate bonus my reading comprehension and working vocabulary in general have improved. I've tried to add these "well-educated" words to my every day speech which sometimes annoys my friends but impresses anyone over thirty!

1.0 out of 5 stars This product is NOT specific to the GMAT, June 14, 2007

About 200 cards are strictly centered on vocabulary words, which are NOT on the GMAT. How could I actually believe that this company even KNOWS what's on the GMAT? I completely lost confidence in the product and will never us it. What a waste of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars INEXPENSIVE TOOL FOR REVIEW - HELPED WITH SEVERAL CLASSES; SOFTWARE SCREENSAVER TEACHES BY OSMOSIS, August 28, 2008
By
This review is from: Ace's GMAT Exambusters Study Cards (Ace's Exambusters) (Cards)
I bought several courses. The cards offer basic concepts in small bites. The information was relevant to what was presented by my teacher. The cards and CD's gave good review before exams and a head start at the start of the new school year. The cards had a lot of questions; you can carry them in your pocket and learn a few each day. The software was easy to use. It is like the cards but on the screen. You can take a test or just review. Front is question, click for answer on back of card. The software can also show the cards on the screen at random, first the question, then the answer. They change every few seconds. That keeps you reading and wondering what's coming up next. It's entertaining while you're studying.

3.0 out of 5 stars Helps, but doesn't quite Ace the GMAT by itself, April 9, 2007
This review is from: Ace's GMAT Exambusters Study Cards (Ace's Exambusters) (Cards)
I bought these cards (the 2007 edition) just as a supplement to a number of other GMAT books (Nova, Kaplan, Official Guide, Princeton, etc). They do not have any of the sample GMAT questions or any of the techniques for it. Few cards with just the format of the test would help.

The cards contain a rather good review of the basics for the Math section (notice, just the basics).

The Verbal section "coverage" is composed of only about 300 words. While it sure helps to know the words, it is quite brave to call it "acing the Verbal section with these super cards." They really need to include some cards covering basic English grammar as well.

Overall, I give this product only 3 stars as it makes a lot of promises that it simply does not fill. There is no way one could possibly ace this grueling test with just the help of these cards.

Covers the basics of math and English vocabulary for reading comprehension. Reviews some simple things you might have forgotten along the line. Do the cards first and then move on to review books with sample tests, etc.

when comparing GMAT books and the study cards, they don't really have much in common. First I sorted them out, and basically threw away a third of the cards, since they were not really GMAT related, especially once you know what exactly is tested on the real GMAT exam. Wanna study GMAT - make your own study cards!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Reinforcement, June 3, 2009
This review is from: Ace's GMAT Exambusters Study Cards (Ace's Exambusters) (Cards)
Try these first to review math and/or vocabulary you haven't seen for awhile. Just the basics are presented and I found I already knew some of the answers, but other times, the cards filled in the gaps. That's what's good about flash cards, you can pull out the ones you don't need. Can't do that with a work book unless you want to rip out some pages and use a lot of white out!! The software and the cards were both helpful; the same information in two different forms. Thanks, Exambusters. You've covered it all and given me more confidence!
