This review is from: BF 109 F/G/K Aces of the Western Front (Osprey Aircraft of the Aces No 29) (Paperback)
If you have plenty of books on the Luftwaffe, these little Osprey books usually provide lots of "unpublished before" photos and a wealth of color profiles, and this one is no exception. Great mini-history of the theater itself from the German perspective, and a must for any library on the subject of Western Front Luftwaffe aces.Get the Russian Front 109 aces book as well, and check out the FW-190 series on both fronts too to round out your collection. As visual references these gems are unmatched for the price.

Mr. Weal has done a great job in this book. A large review of the operations of the 109 units in the western front. Lots of information about units combats. Shows the hard work of the german fighter pilot in this theatre, lots of amazing pictures and excellent color plates. Tons of pages has been published on this subject, but this book is a good choice for modeleres and for anyone interested in german fighters, specially the 109. Strongly recommended.

'Bf-109F/G/K aces of the Weastern Front' is a good book to read! With first hand accounts about German pilots who have become Viermot Experten. With aces like Gunther Lutzow, Walter Oesau, Hermann Graf and more.
With wonderful color plates of planes. Also lots of black and white photos. Read as German pilots accustom themselves to the Friedrich, Gustav and the K-4, (I don't know what K stands for). Read as German pilots go on the offensive in the early '40s to the Defence of the Reich in '44-45. Read as German pilots become Viermot (Heavy bomber, 4 engined bomber) Experten. Osprey delivers another great book of it's long line of 'Aircraft of the aces' books. If you want some detailed stories, first hand accounts, lots of photos and information on the German experten of the Eastern front, then this is the book! 5 stars the whole way!

If your like indepth stories like Iron Coffins and Hans Rudel then this isn't it. This is more like the cliff notes. However, the pictures and the brief writings about the aces where still good. I was amazed at some of the way some of these top guys died. For example, for one guy the wing rips off during a dog fight.
