I got this album after hearing the samples and praise from anyone I asked about it. I must admit, at first I was severely disappointed. I found that I only liked a few of these songs. Now this is unquestionably my favorite U2 record and one of my favorite albums alongside Radiohead's "OK Computer", Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here", and Muse's "Black Holes and Revelations".

This was referred to as "the sound of men chopping down the Joshua Tree." I hear why. This CD is nothing like its predecessors. U2 has taken there musical style to new and inventive heights with this. Each of these songs are memorable. One is beautiful, Zoo Station, Even Better Than The Real Thing, and The Fly make great use of distortion, as well as being very catchy.

Overall this album deserves the praise being heaped upon it. If you you're looking at this album you have great taste in music, for this is a musical classic as much as "The Three Musketeers" is a literary classic.

Surprisingly relevant, and incredibly durable, Achtung Baby might be the only album you'll ever need. Why? It's got the soul, it's got the depth and it's got the heart to keep you company through almost any season of life.

This album was a defining achievement for U2, and for all of us- it was the first time in a long time a band has truly recreated themselves. Instead of the manufactured garbage that comes out in most follow-up albums, U2(which was on the brink of breaking up during the production of Achtung Baby), looked inward and found some of the best music the industry has known.

And amazingly people let them succeed! Somehow the band convinced all of us that a band can break out of the mold in which it's cast(ie Joshua Tree). I've had this album for almost 15 years and probably the best Rock & Roll I've ever heard.

This is the best of all U2 Albums. Every song hits the highs and the lows in tune and life. Some people say it's techno and not as good as U2s old stuff. Well this is an Evolved album. Evolved means being open to all things that life has to offer. U2 in this is genius. Heard a lot from critics who are want to bee's who can't even play an instrument? My opinion to them, don't comment. If your a heavy metal fan and play this at a party no ones going to complain. I did it(wives). Ohh Yeah! Women dig this album. If you have a question about buying Achtung Baby, don't question find out for yourself. One other thing The guy who commented on Alice In Chains...rules. That's an open mind(see them live).Everyone reading this don't close your mind listen to everything. U2 listens and brings it, So should you.

Sorry, but this album is one of the most overrated albums ever! There is nothing to get excited about with this album. The best word to describe it is "boring". I'm not sure how it gets put up there on some lists of "the best albums of the 90's". I not a huge U2 fan, but this album is nothing compared to Joshua Tree and War.
