Rockin' Blues Funk,
By
This review is from: Acid Blues Experience (Audio CD)
This is the first I've heard of this guy and I love it! I love blues rock and I particularly like the harder, distorted blues with a bit of funk thrown in. This guy fits the bill perfectly. He even has the voice to compliment the musical style. He does actually sing and has a good voice. This CD is full of barrell house blues and has that Hendrix feel to it with the harder edge. Lots of Wah, flanger and distortion! Love it! For the traditional blues lover, this wouldn't suffice, but for those of us that appreciate the blues, but love the creativity that Hendrix brought to the blues and rock, this CD is great! I haven't found too many guys that play this style consistently having to bend to a particular genre or crowd, but Stoney plays his balls off and aims to please the rocker on this CD. Rock on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exceptional,

An exceptional guitarist whose live performances have you convinced you're in the presence of a legend. They're not as famous as they should be but don't let that stop you buying their CD.
If you like the blues you will NOT go wrong.

I bought this CD as a throw in so I could get free shipping on a Joe Bonamassa CD. I find myself listening to the Stoney CD more than Joe's CD.
I love the sound of Stoney's guitar work, and the music is no holds barred. The sound is much more rock than blues. If anything, it reminds my somewhat of Frank Marino in his Mahogany Rush days, or Rory Gallagher. The lyrics are a bit simple, but the vocal quality is fine. If you like blazing guitar rock, with a hint of blues, buy this CD. It's like the 70s all over again.

This album (CD) is just a small sample of what Stoney can do. If you have the opportunity to catch these guys live, don't miss it.

I can't believe I just heard about this band. This is just great guitar work and original songs. Just listen to the samples. If you like Bonamossa, Trower, Vaughn, Hendrix sounds, you'll love this CD. It's just good from beginning to end. Buy it!

Nothing real special here. Not bad, but no song, lyric, or solo, really stands out to me. I think I'm always expecting to hear the latest Jimi or SRV. There are better out there to listen to - Bonamassa, Duarte, Popa Chubby to name three.
