Owning most of the 'Winter Chill' series and all of the 'Serve Chilled' series, I have come to expect impressive, extremely listenable quality music compilations from the absolutely amazing Hed Kandi label (shameless plug: www.hedkandi.com), but I was completely blown away by this offering, my first experience with `The Acid Lounge' series (which Hed Kandi refers to as its "drunken uncle"). MAN, this stuff is smooth! Amazing. Buy it. Now. I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the albums in the series.

"ACID LOUNE IN SPACE" IS BY FAR THE BEST COMPILATION CD EVER!!!! THIS BABY IS PACKED WITH SO MANY KILLER TRACKS THAT YOU FORGET WHAT'S WHAT!! LET'S SEE, THERE'S 45 DIP'S "VA VA VOOM" AND "GORGEUOS GEORGE" THAT ARE BOTH ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL AND MYSTERIOUS...THEN THERE'S THE SULTRY 1960'S INFLUENCED "BUBBLE LOVE" AND "I REALLY WANT U"... AND THE SUPER-FUNKY-GET-UP-AND-SHAKE-THAT-THANG SONG "FLYIN' HIGH" BY SPACE HOPPA--I SWEAR I WAS UP ON THE COFFEE TABLE DANCING TO THIS SONG! BASTIAN'S "LOVE IS INCREDIBLE!" IS AS GROOVY AS IT IS SENTIMENTAL; CHECK OUT THE SYNTH/GUITAR SOLO TOWARDS THE END--WICKED!! "SHOWROOM DUMMIES" IS HUMOROUS AND CONTAGIOUS...A GUARANTEED SING-ALONG SONG! THEN THERE'S "WHAT GIVES?" THAT'S NICELY REMIXED BY PHENOM MIXER, HERBERT (I THINK THIS GUY IS ACTUALLY FROM OUTERSPACE). WHOOO!! I'LL BE HERE WRITING ALL DAY IF I COMMENTED ON EVERY SONG ON THIS SET...TAKE MY WORD FOR IT--ALL THE SONGS ARE BRILLIANT AND WERE WELL SELECTED FOR "ACID LOUNGE IN SPACE"...EVEN THE CD COVER AND THE SEGUES ARE WITTY, CREATIVE AND ENTERTAINING--LOVE THE CONCEPT!! PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE GO OUT AND GET THIS CD...OR YOU MAY HAVE TO ORDER IT LIKE I DID BECAUSE LOCAL RECORD STORES DON'T KNOW HOW TO CARRY GOOD MUSIC--ONLY A PLETHORA OF "TOP FORTY" GARBAGE...BUT I DIGRESS...REVIEW YOU LATER!

The Acid Lounge is a great series of chill music for downtempo and house music aficionados!!

Spacehoppa's track sounds fantastic - like Marden Hill on acid!
