I didn't realize I needed an Acme whistle until I saw one on line. I use it mainly on bike rides to alert squirrels I'm coming through. Sometimes I blow it just for fun. It always evokes a smile. How many things can you say that about?

The Acme Siren Whistle ordered THREE TIMES and received & returned to Amazon THREE TIMES was not the item pictured. The whistle pictured was ALL metal and those received had a plastic neck (as per item being reviewed) and not the ALL METAL whistle I ordered and paid for. Upon my money being returned, I plan to contact the Acme Co. to order the proper whistle. I will also advise Acme that Amazon.com, as well as their provider companies, are doing an inferior job of representing Acme. Disappointedly, William M. Ray

I got this for a middle school band piece that needed the "cartoon style" siren whistle effect. While not a cheap percussion accessory, it is definitely a quality instrument. Solidly built and works perfectly. It does have a plastic end with a completely metal body. The plastic is hard and appears to be built to last. My students love the sound and I always get smiles every time it is played. You can use different amounts of air and blowing times to create an interesting variety of sounds.

If you need a no-fail siren whistle that produces a wide range of sounds at a nice strong volume, this is definitely the one for you.

This is just a fun little whistle.
It's not a loud alert whistle like some people seem to think.
If you're stuck in the middle of the ocean you'll run out of breath before any passing ships hear this thing.
It's more of a sound effect whistle like for cartoons (you've all heard it before).
I have heard that people will use them on they're bikes though, sounds like a fun idea.

Works great, but the picture showed an all-metal whistle and the one I received has a black plastic mouth piece. It was expensive, but works well. Acme Metal Siren Whistle
