Acme Made Kate PVC Laptop Case for Laptops Upto 16-Inch (Black)

I've owned The Kate since March (~8 months). It has been my daily work bag for that time period.

The good:
The handles are lined on the inside, preventing slipping off the shoulders, even when wearing a slippery coat.
It weighs very little empty, which is great because it holds ALOT.
Large enough to hold legal files and a 15" laptop.
Padded laptop area is cushiony.
Deep enough that I can also throw in my small organizer handbag, and remove for the weekend.
Very useful interior organization - sunglasses, pen loops, a pocket perfect for a Kindle/Nook in case and a zipper pocket for unmentionables.
The outer slash zip pockets are PERFECT for an iPhone and keys.
The little gear bag is the perfect size for Apple's laptop adapters.

The bad:
The dark purple interior makes it hard to see anything inside (much darker than it looked online)
The shoulder straps need to be a touch longer for wearing with a winter coat.
The bottom of the back pocket should zip open for easy carrying on luggage handles.
The PVC faux leather does not wear well.
Velcro on the laptop compartment and gear bag. I loathe velcro.
It came with a Made for Dell tag, which was quickly removed before my MBP saw it!

I loved this bag, even though I really don't like purple. The layout is fabulous and functional. But the piping trim started to wear away, two of the stabilizer feet popped off and now the handles are fraying around the edges. And it hasn't even gone through a winter season yet! And the black has faded in spots to a murky gray. What was a classy bag now looks cheap and tawdry, way too quickly. I'm still using it, because I haven't found an ideal, more durable replacement.

I just puchased this bag in white for my new laptop after researching online trying to find an affordable yet stylish/unique laptop bag. I love the retro look/shape, and the quality of the fake leather. It has a padded compartment for your laptop with multiple pockets for pens, cell phones, folders, battery packs, etc. The coordinating "wallet" is also very fun and chic. It fits my laptop (Dell Studio 1555)with a 15.6 inch screen perfectly. There is also room for a book or two. On another website it stated that this bag was too small for my laptop, so I am glad Amazon provides the bag measurements. This is a great bag for larger laptops. I definitely think that it is very chic, great quality, and perfect for my needs. I also plan on using it as an overnight bag when I visit friends in NYC. It definitely resembles a large purse versus the traditional laptop bag. Love it!

I am so in love with this new bag! It's even cuter in real life than in pictures! It is great quality and all of the pockets are very handy. I wanted something that is trendy and cute, but also that doesn't make me look immature in a professional setting. Everyone comments on how great it is, and I am super happy with it! The only thing is that I'm scared it'll get dirty - but that's more of a user issue than a quality issue ;) I imagine some sort of leather cleaner will be fine with it since the fabric is closest to that texture. Did I mention how much I love it? :)

Wow. I was so excited to find a large stylish vegan laptop bag. This exceeded my expectations! Larger than I planned, but perfect for my needs. It holds my work folders, my college textbook plus my 13" Macbook Pro & accessories perfectly. Hidden pockets are everywhere you look - great design. Padded laptop section with velcro closure, quality zippers everywhere else. Slings nicely around the shoulder with ever-essential metal bottom nubs to keep the purse bottom off the floor; these are efficient enough for a restaurant floor, but I wouldn't chance it on a bathroom floor. I honestly can't think of an improvements I would make.

This bag is amazing! Solid construction, easy to clean and it fits my Dell XPS 16 - 15.5" screen like a glove. I searched for days for the right bag both online and in shops. The only other bag I was even slightly interested in that would have fit my big laptop was $300. No thanks! This bag fits everything I need - I even bought a small purse that I can take to the cafe on my lunch, coffee breaks or to run other errands. Thanks ACME Made!

This bag was a bit larger than I expected, but that ended up being a good thing. It easily fits everything for school into it along with a bottle of water. By everything I mean: mini laptop (or larger), accessory bag with cords, blackberry, mp3 player, pens, 2 composition note books, up to 2 textbooks, keys, credit cards and lipstick. The strap is very comfortable on my shoulder. It is so much better than carrying a back pack!

I've been searching for a new laptop bag for some time now. I've tried to retire my old faithful (that I've been using for nearly 5 years) several times only to go back to it after each new bag has failed by comparison. I just started a new job so it was really time to put my stained and weathered friend to rest. I'm so glad that I found this bag.

It has ample room for a laptop, books, files, cords, water bottle, etc and my laptop is tucked away in its own pocket so things don't slip down underneath it and get lost. The vegan leather is very soft and looks expensive. It's not shiny or pleathery which was one thing I was concerned about.

The only thing I'm a little worried about is the color. I love it but I'm pretty hard on my laptop bag. When I travel I usually stuff my bag under the seat and I guess one of the benefits of having a 5 year old bag is that you don't really care what happens to it anymore. I guess only time will tell if this one holds up as well.

I love this bag! Every day I receive compliments on it. I travel for work, pretty much on a weekly basis, and so far it's been great. It holds my laptop, folders, magazines, and books. (I carry A LOT of stuff.) Plus, there are small pockets for other items that you alway need.

I got the Kate to replace my Acme Made Designer Slim, which I absolutely adored except that its life span was only about 2 1/2 years - first the zipper broke (for a couple months I was still able to use it without a functional zipper), then one of the leather handles came came off, which put it out of commission. It was so pretty I hated to part with it - the fabric held up very well (Eco Stripe)- and it continued to look as nice as the day I received it (full price from Acme Made in SF). So I opted for the Kate (which I purchased at a discounted price from Amazon) because it looked sharp and appeared more sturdy. However, after only a couple of months, the PVC is already (!) wearing off on the bottom center trim of the bag (so you can see gray interior fabric) - and I don't abuse my bags...so, whereas this one has a more serious metal zipper that I doubt will fail, and looking at the design I don't anticipate a handle coming off, it obviously is not made as well with regard to the thin PVC (leather-like) exterior, which obviously is not as resilient to day-to-day use and wear as is the textile fabric...so, nice bag at good price but be very attentive not to scuff the bag against anything that might damage the PVC...
