This review is from: Acne 415 Blue Light Therapy 38 LED Bulb ONLY! 415nm (Health and Beauty)
I use this light to help with the pigment and acne marks on my face. Have used it for a few weeks, 10 munites almost every night before I go to sleep, (I use a Ultrasonic wave unit to massage my face first, then use the light about 8 inches away from my face) The result is great so far, the pigment and acne marks are fading, the tone of my entire face becomes more even and lighter. The blue purple lights also calm me down so I sleep better(there are some purple lights within the 38 lights, not all blue). I highly recommend it.

This bulb cleared all my acne for 100% for 2 weeks, including blackheads and whiteheads. It also makes the skin non-oily. Before using this bulb, I was on tetracycline for 2 years... In fact, this light saved me.
The problem of this bulb is narrow ray. I have to use it in 26" from my face to cover all surface - for 15 min. After that, I treat my chin (my most problem area) in 7" distance within 15 minutes. It works great for me. Thanks to HABAdirect! P.S. There are 14 (!) red lights. The others are blue.

This system is absolutely fantastic. It cleared up my skin in about 2 weeks, and no other treatment, other than Accutane, has been able to do this for me. This does take patience! I use the light on each section of my face (forehead, chin, each cheek), for 15 minutes each. So it does take a while. But it's very much worth it! The bad reviews on here are obviously by people who don't know what they're doing. Blue light kills bacteria; it's proven. It's the same light used in pools to kill bacteria, and it's also used by water treatment facilities. So it's a foolproof system; the only reason it wouldn't work is human error. Make sure you've washed off all types of sunscreen before you use it, otherwise it won't do anything. The first week or two might cause your acne to worsen, like with any other acne treatment, as your skin needs to adjust to it, and it brings the bacteria to the surface. This is normal. The bottom line is that this will work for you, and I'm so glad I found this product!

Im in my middle 30s and I have policystic ovaries psindrome (my English is poor, sorry) and acne since i was 12. I have tried anything for acne, you just name it. And after 20 years of benzoil peroxide and other antibiotics, i started wondering what did all those substances do to my skin after decades. I wasnt too sure, but I decided to give this a try. I used in in the night and I swear next morning, my acne wasnt as red and "alive" as it was in the night. Ive been using it for a week, 15 minutes every night, and my skin looks much better, especially in the U zone. So, if you are like me, praying for a solution and looking in the mirror wondering when will this stop, THIS is your answer from heaven. It was for me.

Tried it but didnt see a big reduction in my break-out's. It was calming and that was a nice side-effect.

I purchased this product (along with the red one) and found it to be utterly useless and a waste of money.
It is VERY DIM which means it does not produce a lot of photons of light. It produces a SMALL AMOUNT of light in the 415nm range, yet you can just take any ordinary 100-Watt bulb or 100-Watt Equivalent Compact Florescent bulb in any color temperature and that will produce a LOT MORE LIGHT in the 415nm range than this. I don't know the exact numbers, but a general 100-Watt bulb would probably produce several fold if not 10 fold the amount of photos in the 415nm range that this LED produces. Time-wise, I recommend 15 minutes per day or 15 minutes every other day when busy, but it is important to have a strong bulb. The key is to get the most photons within the 415nm range as you can so try a stronger all-around bulb in any color temperature (remember, white light consists of every color in the visible spectrum, so that includes blue/violet).

I bought this hoping for a little improvement, and instead everything got so much worse. I tried it for two months hoping that my skin would start to improve, but it never did. Don't waste your money with this.

I can't tell if its working yet or not. I have been using it for about three weeks and can't tell if I see any results. I opted out of buying a more expensive light hoping this would work. Nothing yet.

Blue light damages eyes,

Studies have shown that while blue light can improve mood and help adjust circadian rhythms, the cost of blue light is harm to the retina. Be certain that you want to undertake the risks before you use this product.
"The consequences of AMD (Age-Related Macular Degeneration) for people who use light therapy can be severe. As reported in the journal Science on the 25th anniversary of the development of light therapy, the first person to use bright light therapy explained how light therapy became less and less effective for him over the years as his eyesight faded, and concluded "Now I can hardly see, and all hell has broken loose... I have had periods of depression lasting over a year"." "Blue light is an important element in "natural" lighting, and it may also contribute to psychological health. Research, however, shows that high illumination levels of blue light can be toxic to cellular structures, test animals, and human fetal retinas. When light hits a photoreceptor, the cell bleaches and becomes useless until it has recovered through a metabolic process called the "visual cycle." Absorption of blue light, however, has been shown to cause a reversal of the process in rodent models. The cell becomes unbleached and responsive again to light before it is ready. This greatly increases the potential for oxidative damage, which leads to a buildup of lipofuscin in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) layer64. Drusen are then formed from excessive amounts of lipofuscin, hindering the RPE in its ability to provide nutrients to the photoreceptors, which then wither and die. In addition, if the lipofuscin absorbs blue light in high quantities, it becomes phototoxic, which can lead to oxidative damage to the RPE and further cell death (apoptosis). ([...]) Blue light is more harmful if you are taking photosensitizing medication such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), most antidepressants, some antibiotics, diuretics, beta-blockers and other heart medications; you have a pre-existing ocular condition such as macular degeneration; you are diabetic or otherwise at risk for retinal damage; or you are 55+ years of age. Current research shows the safest choice to be green light, followed by white light (avoid full-spectrum, it contains blue light). Higher intensity is more dangerous, better to experiment with longer periods at lower levels. Thank you to reviewer Laurie Spatz whose warning prompted me to do this research and thus may have saved my eyesight! |
