A welcome resource!,

This review is from: Acolyte Leader's Resource Guide (Paperback)
The Acolyte Leader's Resource Guide truly lives up to its title. A companion book to the author's Parish Acolyte Guide, it offers a concise overview of what it takes to oversee an acolyte ministry. In addition to supplying templates for practical administrative tasks such as scheduling, the author gives historical background on the ministry of acolytes. There are also descriptions of both the Eucharistic service and the vestments and liturgical equipment used in worship and detailed information on how to organize and manage processions and special services. This is a welcome resource for priests, pastors, worship committees and acolyte leaders as they seek to organize and strengthen their acolyte ministry. As a pastor, I especially appreciate the fact that it both educates and empowers lay leaders within a congregation to oversee this important ministry. Every sacristy and parish library need at least one copy.

Donna H. Barthle's Acolyte Leader's Resource Guide may not include any new, earth-shattering material for people who are serving as acolyte leaders, but the book is well organized, clearly written, and includes numerous helpful illustrations and sample forms. It's worth the price.
