Know thyself is the message,
By
This review is from: The Acorn Principle: Know Yourself, Grow Yourself (Paperback)
Jim Cathcart has written a great book detailing what it takes to discover and develop your hidden potential. He states that every person has a certain kind of unlocked talent (like the acorn) inside of them... a certain genius, and to be happy and successful all you have to do is discover and develop it. "The oak sleeps within you"This book guides you through some detailed questions and exercises to help you in finding your "highest and best use". I took the time to actually write down answers to the questions he puts forth in my journal. It was interesting and well worth the time spent. I must confess... I have read many self-help books of this type over the past five years. I cannot say that I was blown away by the originalty of this book. However, had this been the first book of its type that I ever picked up, it would have easily ranked near the top of my list. His ideas are clear and concise, but mainly focused at the 'beginner' so to speak. So, if you are unhappy in your current situation, job, life... try to look inside and see what is going on in there. What lies dormant within you is just waiting to grow into something big. Jim Cathcart's book can certainly help!

The Inner Circle changed my life!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Acorn Principle: Know Yourself, Grow Yourself (Hardcover)
Chapter 12: How Your Relationships Define You - really stretched my mind. It never occured to me that the primary people in my life are "part of who I am". I now see how I tell myself and the rest of the world about myself through the people I associate with most often. The 3 essentials for a healthy relationship has given me a plan for how to enhance each of my most important relationships. I've looked at the mix of people in my inner circle, the individuals, and my connections with each of them. Now I'm "going shopping" for some new relationships to expand my life!

Wow! I never knew so much about myself!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Acorn Principle: Know Yourself, Grow Yourself (Hardcover)
This book showed me parts of myself I always felt but never could explain. Now I know how to predict my reactions to people and situations and how to make better choices for who I really am. The chapter on Natural Values and the one on Personal Velocity explained why some of the people I know behave as they do. It also made me more accepting of the differences in others. Some people really are quite different from me, in how they think, feel, perceive things, etc. Not only is this book good psychology but the author's style is very encouraging and entertaining. I need to reread this book about once every year. Get one for the people you really care about. Then discuss it with them. You will know each other better.

Read this book when things are changing in your life. It will help you clarify what matters to you and make better choices. By working through the "Thought Breaks" you will really get to know yourself. It helps you understand others better too. Good stuff and easy to read.

One of the best books on Personal Development Ever Written,

This review is from: The Acorn Principle: Know Yourself, Grow Yourself (Hardcover)
Most self-help business books are a rehash of tired and familar cliches. If you're looking for some fresh insights and practical advice, I highly recommend The Acorn Principle. Jim Cathcart has written a classic. I read over 100 books annually, and I've been recommending this one ever since I first read it. It is small in size but big in ideas.

I enjoyed this book very much. I like to learn how to apply myself and do a better job consistently. Working with others and creating teamwork is very important to me. This book helps with all of those things. Very glad I read it and shared it with my son in law. Knowledge is power!(only when you apply what you know successfully)I say buy and share it!

Do not rush to get Acorn,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Acorn Principle: Know Yourself, Grow Yourself (Hardcover)
I thought for the most part that the book is not so much a look inside yourself, but how you can make yourself more apealing to what is outside. In many ways than not, the book starts with you then says forget it here's a plan to just go and get it, whether you are that type of person or not. The success stories are great, but if you are not developed enough of who you are and use the book as a stepping stone, then you're probably going to rethink this approach. A better alternative that has been around a lot longer, "What Color is Your Parachute."

Five stars plus!,
This review is from: The Acorn Principle: Know Yourself, Grow Yourself (Hardcover)
This book changed the way I think about myself, my life and my potential and it could do the same for you! Cathcart writes in a clear, friendly, easy-to-understand manner and his principles are so brilliant you'll find it hard to sleep while you're going through the exercises. What a great service he has done us all by putting these thoughts on paper! It's a must-have for the serious student of personal transformation, for those "just having a rough spot" and for anyone who wonders what they really could become. Magnificent!
