'We recommend this book to readers looking for an extensive and actualised view on the state-of-the-art on the subject. The authors are really in the front line of research, development and application.' - Gerrit Vermeir, Acta Acustica united with Acustica

'Any student or researcher dealing with room acoustics or sound control will want to have access to this important and well-written monograph. It is highly recommended for libraries serving programs in architecture and acoustics.' -Robert Michaelson, E-Streams Vol 7, No. 12

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

6 of 9 people found the following review helpful By Walter Kawai on December 7, 2005
Format: Hardcover
This book is more concentrated on diffusers than absorbers, with extensive care on Schroeder diffusers. Also it is more concentrated on acoustical physics than the discussion on various acoustic materials.

Some peoples (like me) may find the chapter "Measurement of Absorber properties" exceptionally useful.

To illustrate my point: you cannot find the terms "anechoic chamber" in the index.
