The speed of shipping was excellent. The size, appearance and ease of use is excellent. I purchased these speakers late Dec.2009 and so far the sound quality is very good but I require very loud sound with heavy bass, and I guess 8" woffers just don't cut it. I have an amplifier reciever and an equalizer and there is some distortion at very loud volume. If you do not require very loud sound and heavy bass, then this item is a very good buy.

The item arrived timely and packaged well. The speakers are nice looking, very neat and stylish for surround sound speakers. The speakers are smaller than I pictured. The speakers sound good with a movie, removing the need for a sub woofer inside. For DJing purposes (which is why I bought them) they lack bass and the qulaity of the sound seems to diminish once outside in a back yard. I seriously doubt that these speakers are 1400 watts (700 a piece) as advertised. They are probably more like 500 (250 a piece).

Honestly at this price I could have bought 10'' pyle speakers for a little bit more money and probably gotten a better sound for outside. I am debating on returning the product at this time.

As a DJ I tear down the house with huge speakers. (150lbs each) These speakers are completly portable and much more realistic for houses or picnics. They sound nice inside, and carry sound very well outside. They are a bit smaller than I had pictured; and yes, I do need to carry a subwoofer along to make up for the lack off bass. However, they were a great price and can handle a lot of power. They look cool too!

Speakers have a very good high and mid sound. There really is no low notes that can be heard. All and all thou if you have some good subs to complement these it will work for just about any venue. BUY SUBS TOO!!!

not bad for the price this are powerful you just need to have a good amplifier to get the power out .i have a pyle pro amp 2000 wts a works great for me

I was about to purchase these from Amazon for use by our congregation. Our existing speakers were much too big and much too heavy for us to lift up onto the mounting poles. I happened to purchase them in an eBay auction from the same vendor for about half the price listed here, though the "Buy it Now" price on eBay was identical to the price here on Amazon, also with free shipping. We just tested them this morning, and they work fine. We use them to amplify speech most of the time, and hardly ever music, so the lack of thundering bass reproduction was no drawback for us.

Though not mentioned on this site, and denied by the sales rep when I called The Deep Discount, the speakers do indeed have holes on the bottom for mounting on stands/poles. That is an important feature. Since our existing wiring is terminated in 1/4" phone plugs, the dual 1/4" phone jacks on the back are also a most convenient feature for us. Also, the construction appears to be of high quality with a nubby carpet covering and corner protectors all around. Finally, the trim in the picture looks like shiny bling, kind of garish. However, in reality it is a satiny finish and not at all obtrusive.

The main reason for my review, however, is to give a positive rating to the seller, The Deep Discount. One of our members looked them up on the Better Business Bureau site, where they had a very negative rating. He cautioned against doing business with them. But, here on Amazon, and also on eBay, they have a highly positive rating, so I decided to go ahead with the purchase. And, my experience reinforces the positive rating. The speakers arrived in about two days by UPS, and they were well packaged and in perfect condition. They appeared totally brand new, and they performed well this morning when we gave them a trial run. So, take this as a well-earned vote of confidence for The Deep Discount.
