5.0 out of 5 stars Great deal
I was looking for a guitar for my grandson for Christmas, I bought a blue one for him and a pink one for my granddaughter. The guitars seemed great to begin learning, they were of good quality and they loved the bag and accessories.

I am trying to learn how to play the guitar and chose this item. I have had it for a few weeks now and am pleased so far... it is my ability to learn that scares me.

i was giving the guitar as a gift. it is a beautiful guitar, but the "free" e-book would not open. when i contacted the company, they took forever to respond. they said i would need to pay them more than $40 to print the "free" e-book for me. so in the end i went to a local store and bought a guitar lesson book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Conundrum - Am I right in reviewing a product that I returned?, January 15, 2007
This review is from: 38" Acoustic Blue Guitar with Gig bag and Accessories (Toy)
I ordered the Crescent 38" Black Guitar with accessories from Austin Bazaar. The product arrived within the shipping time indicated on the website...But I had a lot of trouble tuning the D, A and E strings. I used all of the spare strings provided with the product to no avail. I guess at this price the guitar looked like a bargain and I was unlucky to grab one of indifferent quality.

I returned it back and am still waiting for the refund. The shopping experience with Austin Bazaar has been satisfactory though...

So my suggestion to those who want to buy this product...Do it if you are a bit od a risk taker...But if you can afford a little more buy one with a proper electronic tuner (the pitch pipe is crappy for beginners...)

All the best!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what i thought, November 10, 2010

I recently bought this guitar(toy) for little sister who has taken an interest in guitar. I have been playing guitar for about two years now and can tell you that you do not want to buy this item. The strings are too far from the fingerboard and they are steel strings too. This toy was not meant for steel, it needs classical strings. When first opened it smelled very strongly of chemicals and advised my sister not to touch it for a while. And when she did start playing with it was killer on her hands cause of the strings being too high up. It also sounded like crap, and was of very cheap quality. Please for your own sake don't buy this guitar or any other beginner guitars on amazon.

This little guitar is great to play around with and is fantastic for a kid or beginner player.

The pros: Small enough for kids to get a good feel of and play with, cheap enough that you won't care when they ding it up. It is a good starter guitar for someone thinking they might want to play.

The cons: Not a professional guitar (this is a toy). The sound (if you are a true musician is not very good) but it does the job. It comes with very cheap strings and is difficult to tune and to keep tuned. The strap is a joke and does not come with dual hooks via the guitar so you cannot use it. (even with small kids it is too tight). Chips up very easily. Tightening strings is very touchy as the threads strip very easy. Bag is very cheap and will no protect guitar except from dust.

I purchased this guitar to allow my nephews to play while I am playing my guitar. Kids love to strum and I do not want them tearing up my expensive guitars. They think this is the greatest thing around and you can teach them to play as the sound is ok.

For the money....A great deal!

I purchased this as a beginner/learning guitar for my 12 year old child and though have not given it to him yet I inspected it before wrapping for holiday gift and it appears to be decent quality for the price.. much better quality than some I have seen in department stores for same or more pricetag! After a glitch with emails; the seller was good about keeping in touch and communication to my questions and follow-ups. I am looking forward to the Bonus Guitar Instruction EBOOK which I am requesting at this time from the seller. Happy Holidays!
