This is great for die-hard Classic Crime fans. Great album of acoustic songs. As with all Classic Crime albums, this one is great!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good if you love accoustic., October 15, 2009

I bought this album because I really like the Classic Crime and I had seen the Seattle music video, which I love. I did find some of the songs to be pretty enjoyable, but that being said I am not much of an acoustic album sort of person. The Classic Crime surely can pull off temporarily transitioning from Rocking it to playing unplugged. They are very talented. Acoustic rock is just not my thing, but if it is your thing then this is a great EP.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Crime to Tide You Over, November 16, 2007
This review is from: Acoustic Ep: Seattle Sessions (Audio CD)
For fans of their freshman release, Albatross, this is just the ticket to hold you over until their next full length album. The themes of loneliness and the pursuit of fame are clear and saddening. Beauty is in the simplicity of the recording. The unpolished acoustic feel puts you in the room with the band. You can hear each breath Matt takes and Justin's fingers on the stings. This is money well spent but will leave you anticipating the next full length electric release.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing like what I expected, but that wasn't a bad thing! =], March 19, 2008
This review is from: Acoustic Ep: Seattle Sessions (Audio CD)
Ok, let me start out by saying that although I LOVE the Classic Crime like a fat kid loves cake, I was a little optimistic about this album when I heard they were doing an acoustic album. I have heard and bought albums that were acoustic from rock bands before, and I was dissapointed because some bands just can't pull off an acoustic album. I kinda felt like that's what this album would be like, but because I'm such a big fan of TCC, I just had to give them a shot. I'm glad I did! This album is amazing!

"Seattle"
This song is catchy and I can relate to it because I live in Seattle and it talks about how the weather can kinda play a toll on your emotions. I think they wrote this song on the road.

"Blindfolded"
This song grabs you right from the start, with a catchy guitar background and witty lyrics. I mostly like the lyrics of this song, and find myself singing along to this song in my car a lot.

"The Test"
This song is my favorite one on the cd. =] I love the guitar and most defenately all that he talks about. He talks about only being able to see "as far as his headlights can show him" because life isn't always spelled out for you. He also talks about living the life, and how your bound to be tested by circumstances, etc. And I really like the SCREAM near the end of the song...and I promise...it's going...to kill...."YEAHHHH!" =]

"Wake Up (Shipwreck)"
This song also has a catchy acoustic feel to it. =] The message of this song is really good too.
"The Drink in My Hand"
This song is a slower song, and it's an emotional song. Sometimes with music it's kinda hard to tell what they are talking about, and this is one of those songs.

"When the Time comes"
I like the part of this song where it says
**"Why do we always say we're fine,
when it's obviously we're lying?
Why don't we ever tell the truth,
what do we got to lose?"**
Because it's sooo true lol it made me laugh when I heard that part because when we ask our friends how they're doing they always reply "I'm doing ok" when they really actually aren't ok. (I'm guilty of this too)

"Far From Home"
This song is a good way to end the cd. In this song, he screams more than any of the songs in the cd and it makes me feel like TCC is saying...ok, we did an acoustic album and we are now going back and releasing another electric, rock-your-face off, "albatross-like" album....and with this last song you feel like your gearing back up for another run of high-energy music. **SIDE NOTE** I can't wait for their next album!!! I think they are in the studio and it comes out in June sometime. =] Also, in this song...there is a guest singer (female) that sings along with him and it sounds super cool.

I never expected an acoustic album to be as good as this, especially from a band that is defenately not acoustic (main style.) 5 stars for doing a great job at making an acoustic album! =] Don't be optimistic about this album like I was, just go buy it!

This review is from: Acoustic Ep: Seattle Sessions (Audio CD)
THE CLASSIC CRIME, their music continues to disappoint no one... I just imagine what would happen if their CDs where to get stronger promotion and International distribution... wow! mind blowing results... Their music is extremelly appealing and well developed artisticly! Seattle Sessions EP, an acoustic masterpiece! Oh well, You can only keep this sound low for so long then the fans, by themselves, will TURN IT UP!!! "The Test" demonstrates what is is like when on the road, heart felt, inspiring!, "Seattle" depicts the feeling of being away from home... far from home...We have all been there! These fellows are so talented.. I just can't wait what their next CD will bring to us... hopefully America will share The Classic Crime with the rest of the world... The Classic Crime a band you must discover and trully appreciate...
