5.0 out of 5 stars T. Cheney is wrong. This is well worth the price
I'm not sure what book T. Cheney is referring to but it is not this book. I have owned this book for well over 3 years and EVERY one of the 220 songs in it have standard music notation, tab notation, lyrics and lyrics notation as well. It's true some songs do not have chord diagrams but IMO if you have tab, chord diagrams are just a convenience. Then there are songs...

2.0 out of 5 stars Some good buds, lots of shwag
This book has a nice selection of classics, including Pachelbel's Canon, Clair De Lune, jazz standards like "It Had To Be You," and some great 70s songs from America, The Eagles, and Elton John. However, most of the songs are fairly weak. Eight songs from Michelle Branch vs. one from Jim Croce? Eight from Jewel and two from Cat Stevens?

This review is from: Acoustic Guitar: The Ultimate White Pages : Guitar Tab (Ultimate Song Pages) (Paperback)
Then there are songs where chord diagrams are not necessary, for example "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" or "The Ancient". These two examples are fingerstyle pieces. "Dreamboat Annie" is another example of a song without chord diagrams and shows chord names at the appropriate places (as do all the songs I've looked at). If you're having trouble with knowing what Dm, Dm7, G and C chords are then this is not a book for you.

In all, this book and the other "Guitar Tab White Pages" books are excellent, accurate and complete. I own six of these type books and they are 1000x better than any 'net guitar tab you'll find and well worth the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing, October 30, 2007
This review is from: Acoustic Guitar: The Ultimate White Pages : Guitar Tab (Ultimate Song Pages) (Paperback)
Not all songs are tabbed in this book. In fact, some aren't even chord diagrammed. The tabs that do exist are pathetically weak, inaccurate excuses for music. I'm now using my copy as a coffee cup coaster. You'll do much better buying lead sheets or books that focus on the artist you're interested in.
