Having heard Eric Skye play live, I purchased his CD - and was thrilled by the sheer lushness of the recording. His impeccable technique will amaze you, and his emotional style will work your heart. A virtuoso like Eric Skye comes along once in a lifetime. Buy this disc - I guarantee you'll want to share it with everyone you know.

First of all, this guy can flat out play. His ability to carry that moving bass line while playing a jazz melody is amazing. For me, this CD is a great introduction to solo fingerstyle acoustic guitar jazz.

Monster Jazz Guitar!,

An incredible talent - this guy will blow you away. His arrangements are so fresh and unique that they make the old standards glow, and his technique is out of this world. Another plus - the recording is so clean, you will think Eric Skye is in the room with you - and that's a very, very good thing.

This is one of the best jazz recordings I've ever heard.
Skye's taste is impeccable, his musicianship stunning. This is an album of standards, but with each song, he manages a fresh new take on melody, rhythm, and overall interpretation. Not showy or flashy, but at the appropriate times, Skye rips through arpeggios and scales with blistering speed and absolute precision. All the while keeping a moving bass line through each number, giving the entire work a bluesy, comfortable feeling. Not a weak song in the collection. Buy it. |
